Ranjit, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
My optimism comes from where it all started. My parents are my definition of optimism. I grew up with two immigrant parents. They came to America to become successful. They overcame obstacles that my generation would never be able to take on. I have admired what they have accomplished my whole life. Their values are instilled in me until the day I die.

Ranjit Chand is my given name, but most people know me as Dj Raju. I am an entrepreneur by trade. My passion is and always will be Deejaying. My company is Dj Raju Productions, and we go worldwide to cater events. I started when I was 15 years old. It has been a long but fantastic journey. When people think of DJ, they think of someone who plays music at parties/clubs. Let me take you behind the scenes to what Deejaying is actually like. The preparation for events is very vast. We work with clients on song selections for events. On many occasions, we coordinate with Planners and other various vendors to make your event successful. Deejaying has opened up a world where we have the best clients that treat us like family. Client referrals are the most extensive form of our booking process. I have been allowed to work with excellent vendors worldwide in this business. Finally, I can’t thank the team I have enough for helping me achieve the goals we set out at every event. When it comes to this industry, skies the limit, and we accept all challenges.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities that have helped me strive to get where I am today are listening, understanding, and using my best judgment to get the job done. I don’t take these three things lightly. Listening to your environment and everything going on around you. I prioritize understanding that all events are unique. The key to successful events is using your best judgment. You learn as you grow. The best advice I can give someone in my field is that mistakes happen to everyone. How you recover and move forward from those mistakes sets you apart.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My Wife, Gurpreet Kaur, has been the most helpful person in my Life. She has always supported my decisions and given me the time to improve myself daily. She always tells me just be the better you than the one from yesterday. Very similar to the quote I go by every day, “me versus me.”
