Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ras Moses. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Ras, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
In a worldly way, my parents and my grandparents instilled that hard work pays off and each generation thrives more.
My dear father was the first to go to university and get his masters then went onto a successful business career. However I learned a hard lesson that we must balance work life with restoration as my dad worked himself to death with stresss.
As a rasta man and yogi we follow the great example of HIM Haile Selassie the
First who set the standard of ceaselessly seeking the balance of spiritual and material to secure happiness. Yogis follow the path of seva (service) or karma yoga others.
As an international reggae artist, board members of non profits and managing director of The Oasis which are growing line of eco retreat and sacred venues if I didn’t take a sabbath rest day I d be working all the time.
When you love what you do it’s not work at all. All of my work I seek to do is to uplift people and create community so when I get feedback from people how it impacted them positively it inspires more to work more for the benefit of mankind.
The most important thing I can impart is to remember The Almighty Creator with all the dharma (divine work on earth) you do and it becomes joyful , timeless and rewarding.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
As a songwriter and performer practice, practice, practice . Imagination and perseverance will insure your success!
I studied with the masters and practice every day . There is no roof to your talents that you were given.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramansa Yogananda is my favorite book, it was George Harrison of The Beatles favorite too as well as Steve Jobs.
This book is mystical book of the great proportions based on the great master of love’s direct experience.
This book put me on the path to meditation, peace and divine guidance. I am authorized to teach this ancient practice to end suffering.
