Meet Ratha Sok

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ratha Sok a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Ratha, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from a combination of personal strength, and inspiration from graffiti. Through the urban landscape in Denver, I found the motivation to hustle because I don’t come from a privileged background.

By acknowledging the difficulties, learning from them, and leveraging the support within myself, I was able to overcome resilience and emerge stronger on the other side.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Embarking on a professional art & design career is a dynamic journey, and I am determined to weave a narrative that extends beyond the canvas. In this pursuit, I am focused on creating more personal studio works to sharpen up my storytelling and improve my technical proficiencies.

An integral part of this journey involves strategically working towards my personal gallery to elevate the visibility and impact of my work.

Stay tuned for more studio work, murals & more! Subscribe to my website www.rathasok.com.

Stay adaptable and open to feedback, showcasing a willingness to learn and grow.

Leadership:

Develop decision-making skills by assessing situations, considering alternatives, and making informed choices.
Lead by example, embodying the values and principles you expect from others.

Relationship Building:

Practice active listening to understand others’ perspectives and foster community.
Be genuine and authentic, as authenticity builds trust and credibility.

Advice for Early Career Development:

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
Expecting and having my first child has deepened my connection to my cultural roots and has led me to be more intentional with my work. It has also ignited my want to make impactful changes within my community.
