Raven, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
As a Makeup Artist it’s important to be creative and learn new techniques. I keep my creativity alive by putting time aside to engage in online makeup courses to develop my skills. I ensure to find a creative space to journalized what’s next for me. Using your resources such as watching other creatives on TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube also help with keeping up with the latest trends.

My name is Raven Cornwall, and I am the owner of Raven Cornwall Beauty. I am a PRO makeup artist in the Austin, TX area. I specialized in sultry skin finish glam for all skin tones. I offer my services to brides, models, and special occasion clients. I also educate clients by providing 1:1 class.
The most rewarding thing about being a makeup artist is seeing my clients boost of confidence after their appointment.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Confidence, Great customer service, and Creativity..
As a beginner makeup artist it’s important to be confident in your work because if you aren’t confident it will definitely show in the results. It is also very important to invest in yourself and your business. Artist should always consider taking courses because trends change and it’s so important to stay on top of trends. Do not be afraid to reach out to other creatives to do collabs. You never know who you will meet!
