Meet Raxiel Liz

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Raxiel Liz. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Raxiel below.

Raxiel, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

My Purpose? Well life has a real funny way of showing you things you may welcome and more of what you may not want to welcome… People who know me can tell you I have endured a lot! From loss of family members (Some to illness others to death and murder) all the way to personal loss in life and jus the everyday struggles of being a decent human being LOL.

My purpose came to me at an early age when I truly allowed myself to be honest with myself. What I mean by that is like everyone I work a 9 to 5 etc… , but the more I did the more I hated it and life! I would always find myself asking myself like WTF is this it? Is this how it goes till I die? Nah wait… I can’t do this! I dug deep into my soul, wants, ideas and desires and realized what I always known about me and ignored. I love entertainment! Not like the average person, I am entertainment. I felt God blessed me with a gift… Most would say it’s the gift to entertain but, the gift is really the gift to handle myself in any situation!

My skin has become and kind of always was stronger and thicker than the average. I knew deep inside nothing could stop me or scare me away from my calling. I dove face first into my wants and dreams and have a catalog that reins heavy from Movies, music, books and more on so many platforms and more!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Well…. First I started as a musical artist (Hip Hop, Ghost writing and R & B music). From there I traveled over to photoshop and video. (Music videos). All my videos had small movies in them from action sequences all the way to comedy sketches. Doing so led me into the idea of acting and directing films. I started with background work (That didn’t last long because I hated the way they treated people) and quickly put all my attention into doing as many indie film roles i could get my hands on so I could build a reel! Once I did that, I found a agent (Lucky I guess) and started my acting career. Acting opened me up to directing and directing opened me up to writing my own scripts… then that led into writing my own books and becoming an author. They all go hand and hand. One hand washes the other both hands wash the face type of thing.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

1. Listen to your gut!

2. Opinions of those you do not respect are not important.

3. Knowledge is everywhere! Even in the weakest or in a person who throws shade at you… Pay attention you can learn something from everyone and everything.

4. Don’t talk about what you’re doing just show the outcome of the work!

5. The fastest way to finish… Is to START!

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

Simple… Me. I believe in me and never allow anyone to tear me down! If I don’t succeed, I can only blame me. The only other person in my life who has help tremendously is my lady!
