Meet raymond holloway

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Raymond Holloway. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Raymond, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

When it comes to resilience coming from where I come from you have to have it or you will easily sink or be overlooked. My resilience was develop through my watchful eye of the people before me and around me. From mentors, to peers, to family I’ve watch them go through life struggle and figure it out. That figure it out is what stuck to me. No matter what, no matter how the people around me figured it out. My environment helped me successfully adapt to difficult or challenging life experiences, especially through mental, emotional, and behavioral flexibility and adjustment to external and internal demands. Add being a single father for 7yrs then getting married and having 3 more children I had to be resilient in order to provide for them who have become my why. The reason why I do everything I do.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Inch by inch I’ve climbed my way to where I am today. Born and raised in Hampton, Virginia moved away for a while and came back home with no direction to go. I ended up working at the shipyard, preparing taxes along with being a weekend warrior in the National Guard and single father. Hard work and dedication has never been a stranger to me. Eventually, I got out the guard, met my wife and had 3 more children.

In that time Virginia legalized the growth of up to 4 cannabis plants per household which led to the birth of Bud Ezz. Bud Ezz has been my main focus every since. We aim to normalize a cannabis service just as you would call a landscaper to come maintain your lawncare. We have taken the time to perfect the world of hydroponics. With hours and hours of studying, testing and experimenting on the best practices, We have developed a system that allows us to share our knowledge and skillsets in households across Virginia while consumers get to sit back and enjoy the fruits of our labor.

We offer safety and peace of mind of a quality product that has been grown in your own home. Best part of it is, its the freshest Bud you’ll ever have. No hassle of calling “ol buddy” then having to wait or leave your home to meet up when you become one of our budezz.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

looking back I would say you definitely need to be very knowledgeable about what you are doing when it comes to growing. We weren’t the best when we first started and had to go through all the what if’s. There are many factors that can go wrong and that you need to consider. A skill that I picked up from doing my tax work is being able to deal with many different people, their personalities and of course attitude. You’re the expert in your field yet you work for the client so no matter what you suggest you have to do what that clients wants which may hurt the process in the end. 3rd I would say you have to keep your head in the game. No matter what don’t lose sight. There will always be personal things that come up in life and its up to you to set your priorities and get things done. For those just starting our on their journey I would say, get some good people around you. Those who encourage and not discourage. Find you an outlet as well to where you can let go the stress of doing your all and you can just be.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

The number 1 obstacle that I face has always financial support. Doing it alone and not knowing much of anything when it comes to grants and such I had to just dive in and start. Now that I am in and facing the expenses I found ways to get those grants and such needed to help out as needed.
