Meet Reagan Allen

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Reagan Allen a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Reagan , thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

Optimism is a core value in our field. When you remember the impact you have on someone who is celebrating the most special day of their life, it’s easy to see the hope and the joy of it all.
I reflect on starting our business and what we wanted that to look like. For us, the greater good was always at the forefront of everything we wanted to incorporate. We consider the greater good for our employees, our customers, the life they are building with their significant other and we know the large impact our business has on that. We optimistic about making a positive impact on their lives and creating a special moment when they are with us.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

My sister and I have a heart to serve others and to make people feel special. That has been at the foundation of our business since we started and it is an honor to make this experience not only special but easy, fun and enjoyable.

As a bridal store owner, each day is exciting knowing you are a small part of celebrating such a special moment in someones life. Relationships are at the core of what we do. To develop such a special bond with our brides and their families is so impactful for us and makes coming to work each day a joy.

Our business started at the beginning of 2015. We are close to celebrating 10 years. 3 years ago we moved to a different location to allow us to add 2 dressing rooms. It’s always been our intention to be a small, intimate boutique and we’ve been able to grow and expand while still keeping that same feel.

It’s always lively in here, especially in the fall, winter and spring when we are most busy. It’s imporant to us to bring the newest trends to our brides so they can see them first. We have two trunk shows this month which are always the most fun and exciting weekends around here.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I would encourage anyone with a dream to start before your ready. If you wait to start until you’re ready, then it’s usually too late. I have made it a point to be courageous and put my pride aside to utilize all the resources I have through relationships I’ve built. Most people are thrilled to help, so don’t be afraid to ask those around you that are successful in their field for their expertise. The three skills I could never live without are strong verbal and nonverbal communication, the ability to always be adapting, and to hire people who have different strengths than you to fill the gaps.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

I can’t thank my parents enough for the way they made me feel like I could truly do anything. There was no obstacle I ever felt like I couldn’t work through or work out. They made me feel like the world was my oyster and it was more of a risk to play it safe. They always find a way and they instilled that same eager feeling in me.
