We were lucky to catch up with Reagan Bregman recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Reagan, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I’m a big believer in writing down goals. I love to have something out of reach that I’m working towards. I also never feel like I’m “done” with something because there’s always a higher goal. When I look back, it’s the daily habits that truly make the biggest difference, so I focus on each day at a time and always have those bigger ambitions in mind. I try to align all of my actions to the goals I have written out and it helps me choose what I say “yes” and “no” to. Since I was young, I’ve always liked to challenge myself and I think seeing my dad work so hard throughout my life also inspired me.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I own an athletic wear brand called Exiza and I have big plans for the launch of a collaboration this Fall as well as plans to expand beyond apparel. I am currently working on a jewelry line with Shaftel Diamonds. I love this company and what they stand for. We are developing a beautiful line of everyday pieces that I can’t wait to share. They gave me complete creative freedom with collaboration so each piece is meaningful.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think the most important quality is resilience and being able to quickly overcome rejection. I think it’s talked about a lot, but difficult to put into practice. The best thing you can do is start small with going outside of your comfort zone. It never gets easy, but it’s always worth it and leads you closer to where you want to be.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I’m feeling overwhelmed I like to get out of my mind and into my body. For me, it’s exercise, breath work, sitting in the sauna or steam room. You have to find what clams you and gets you centered. I also like to write and organize what I have going on. I write out everything and then I use Asana and Google calendar to make sure it’s all out of my head and on paper or in my computer. Honestly, I’m not a very organized person, so I really have to make an effort to stay on top of it. I highly suggest finding what works for you and making time very Sunday to prep for the week.
