We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rebecca Ettari a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Rebecca, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
This is a loaded question, but I think I have always been connected to helping others. I was in a service industry for 20 years where not only was I people facing but I also coached and guided others for career growth. Once I became a mom, my world completely blew up and in a way I never imagined. I was hit with the overwhelm, isolation and insecurities I had never felt before. I really dug deep for 2 years wondering when I would ever get back to myself again.. I started slowly seeing that I was switching gears into a whole new world of motherhood when my 3rd baby was born. I couldn’t believe I had 3 kids in 3 years. It was already hard being a twin mom and getting pregnant with my 3rd child was a complete shock.
I started diving into what I loved to do before motherhood which was hard with all the motherhood demands. I knew I wanted to do radio since I was 18 years old. I went to school for it and worked at a radio station for a few years, I absolutely loved it! As years went on, I found that I loved listening to podcasts that connected me to my motherhood journey. My purpose was now a mom to 3 littles and I knew that my trials and everyday life would also help someone else. So many experiences that I have gone through have molded me and helped me see all sides of motherhood. I wanted to use my voice, skill set and ability to help someone through my testimony. Let me tell you, this was not an easy feat because I had to internally find confidence to do this. It happened super fast… it was as simple as a microphone, headphones and my computer. Here I was in my bedroom recording my first episode. I am now 28 episodes in and I am so honored to be in my purpose of helping others and creating a community around it.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m Becca, I am a mom of 3 under 4. I used to be a high functioning corporate woman that poured her heart into helping others. I am now a stay at home mom that has started a motherhood podcast. It was a big transition from working girl to being home with little ones. I know how hard this journey can be and I wanted someone else to feel less alone. My goal is to help others find a safe place to land and create a community of like-minded moms to understand each other. My content is relatable and vulnerable all at the same time. I try to really touch on how motherhood is not linear, and how it has so many layers to it. My brand is also a place I want others to feel like you have a girlfriend in your ear every Friday giving you a pep talk or bringing on guests that can answer your questions. My passion lies in helping the collective. You deserve to feel understood, seen and heard!
I have a special launch coming soon and I have frequent giveaways for that Mom to feel special! My platforms include Instagram, Tik Tok and Apple Podcast. You can find the latest and greatest there!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
One of the main skills I adopted while working in corporate was connection with others, I truly believe you have to see people where they are at. I have coached and developed many employees, which in turn has helped me in my podcast in building true authentic connection. I am hoping I can be a relatable Mom to others and help others with tools based on my experiences. I truly feel that when you walk the talk, it truly impacts so much more.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my Mom has done for me was to teach me confidence in anything I did in life. She ignited a fire in me even when the world wasn’t always so kind to me. I have been able to supersede my limited beliefs because of the guidance she has shown me.
