Meet Rebecca Klewin

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rebecca Klewin a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Rebecca, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?

With a business which educates clients on the value of self care & self confidence I have a trusted self care routine that I have found to be essential to my mental health .For self-care, I focus on using clean, healthy products that truly benefit my well-being. I prioritize skincare routines, applying my favorite Vitamin C serum, exfoliating, and taking the time for at-home beauty treatments like tanning, teeth whitening etc. Yoga helps me stay centered and active during the winter month where it’s difficult to get outside during. I enjoy creating moments of indulgence, like doing an “everything shower.” This half-hour ritual involves refreshing myself from every angle—shaving, deep cleaning, and using products that smell amazing—all while playing music to set the mood. Since I don’t have a lot of free time as a business owner, I make the shower and bathroom a sanctuary, keeping everything organized and convenient. This focused approach not only refreshes me physically but also clears my mind, helping me feel ready and effective for the day ahead.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am the CEO and master hair/makeup artist of my company Mobile Beauty Services LLC. With over 12 years of experience as a skilled makeup artist and hairstylist, I initially built my career working solo across the bridal, pageant, runway, and editorial industries. As demand grew for luxury services, I began to hand pick a talented group of professionals who could represent my brand’s commitment to excellence. Now, almost four years later MBS is built of dedicated, highly skilled artists that deliver exceptional hair and makeup experiences for every client. With an incredible team of artists, the MBS team delivers luxury pampering experiences to every client by creating a stress free experience. I have a passion for bringing out clients inner beauty and confidence, the glow of a confident person paired with an stunning hair/makeup look is unforgettable. Serving over 300+ people in my career each day I wake up thankful for the opportunity to continue to express my passion and serve others daily in my hair/makeup chair.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three qualities that were most impactful in my journey has been my ability to step outside my comfort zone in order to meet new people, the ability to truly be optimistic due to the passion in my field, and the ability to lean on my team in order to grow.

The field of hair/makeup is growing daily and it’s essential to step out of your comfort zone in order to maximize the growth. Had I not have been willing to prioritize my business and spend hours networking either in person or through social media my business would not be near the level it currently is. Running a business takes a village, I am proud to say my village built of my admin team, my artists, past clients, current client and my family has supported me in countless ways which I cannot be more thankful for.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

There are so many people to credit with helping myself and my business be successful but I truly am proud to say my admin team keeps Mobile Beauty Services LLC running as a high caliber beauty business. I am blessed to have 2 incredible admins Emily and Emely who put in countless hours behind the scenes serving our clients and team. Running a business in 2024 requires a business owner to wear multiple hats such as content creator, customer service representative etc which is why having 2 admins allows us to truly serve our client in so many ways. I would not be here providing a luxury and dependable company without them by my side.
