Meet Rebecca Lewis

We recently connected with Rebecca Lewis and have shared our conversation below.

Rebecca, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I was raised by a strong woman, and I was raised to be a strong woman. I rarely back down from a challenge, I try really hard to meet people where they’re at to work toward a common goal, and I love that teamwork feeling when the goal is met.

Resilience, though, for me requires that I lean into the softness. I’ve had to learn that over time. If I just continue to push without making time and room for the softer side of life: recharging with my family, reconnecting with my partner, even honoring big feelings… I burn out and have no option but to stop eventually.

Balancing the softness of life keeps me going.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m the owner of an artisan bath bomb company called Whipped Up Wonderful. We create all of our products from scratch with an eye toward playful fun, quality, and treating our customers and employees with unending love, kindness, and respect.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I’ve learned :

1. If you’re an art lover, have you ever looked at an artists work across the lifetime and thought: wow. They recreated themselves a thousand times? Georgia O’Keeffe is my favorite artist who had so many wide and varied phases to her lifetime- I try and continually create the things that interest me, and give myself permission to try new things.
2- if I don’t try, I will most certainly not make it. It’s always better to try than to quit.
3-Assume positive intent. Sometimes it’s easy to think of a situation in a negative light, but assuming positive intent has always served me well and I work to cultivate that outlook.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am always looking for people to partner with. My current dream: I have a dream of working with an independent bookshoppe to start a book and bath bomb book club- because in my mind: one of life’s great pleasures is reading in the bath and I want my products to inspire simple pleasures and good reads.
