We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rebekah Brumfield a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebekah, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I developed my confidence and self-esteem by embracing my uniqueness. Celebrating my individuality and recognizing that my worth goes beyond societal expectations.. I have embraced my strengths and quirks helped me build confidence from within. I’ve practiced self-compassion. I treat myself with the same kindness and understanding I would offer a close friend, accepting that making mistakes is a natural part of life and an opportunity for growth.
I set and achieve goals. I start with small, achievable goals and celebrate each accomplishment. Gradually challenging myself with more significant tasks, and as I achieve them, my self-esteem grows. Lastly, I surround myself with positive influences. My parents, friends, and mentors who support and uplift me. Having a strong support system can significantly impacted my self-esteem and overall well-being.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I specialize in branding small and minority-based businesses. What I’m most proud of is, I started with no capital or financing and I’ve grown it to where I help businesses across the country. Not only have I been able to promote various businesses, but I’ve also been able to introduce various individuals via my platform on Instagram to a larger community.
I’ve gotten where I am by not giving up, being tenacious, and dedicated. It hasn’t been easy. I enlisted help from my industry influencer community and reached out to close family with the expertise to push me forward. I want the world to know that the JeanEllen Collection is and has become a conduit for small businesses to have reach beyond their local communities. My brand will be a household name like QVC, Martha Stewart, Diann Valentine, and Rachael Ray.
I added a few products to my brand. JeanEllen Collection Matte Lipstick and Ophelia’s Creole Razzle Dazzle Seasoning. I’m really proud of the products. They are both things I love and really passionate about.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
For entrepreneurs, determination is a pivotal quality, as it fuels the perseverance needed to navigate the unpredictable entrepreneurial landscape. Adaptability allows entrepreneurs to embrace change, pivot strategies, and stay ahead of market trends. Moreover, having a deep understanding of their target market and industry is crucial for making informed decisions and crafting effective business strategies.
I advise cultivating a growth mindset, viewing challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. Surround yourself with a supportive network of mentors and like-minded individuals who can provide guidance and encouragement along the way. Stay curious and continuously seek to expand your knowledge and skills through books, courses, and hands-on experiences. Remember, building a successful venture takes time and perseverance, so be patient and stay committed to your vision.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
As a content creator, I look to collaborate, seek business owners who complement my expertise and bring diverse perspectives to the table. I look for individuals who want to expand their reach, open communication, and share a common interest. Whether that’s food, drinks, empowerment, or just connecting with good people.
To connect with me for collaboration or seeking advice, feel free to explore my social media pages where I’m accessible. I’m always here to provide support, share insights, and contribute to entrepreneurial journey’s. Let’s create something remarkable content together!
