Rebel Kitty Kunzite, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.

My ancestors and my spirit team help me to persist, they cheer me on and push me to keep going. My faith in a Free Turtle Island keeps me very grounded. There are a lot of people out there who pray on my downfall. They don’t like that I’m loud, messy, and fierce in my pursuit for freedom. I’m not going to lie some days I low key keep going out of spite… I’m not proud of that but it’s honest. I choose to keep going because I want to be free. I don’t want to be another body of labor for the machine while my tax dollars fund genocide no I must remain rooted in my art and my desire for freedom for as long as I possibly can. The government is trying it’s best to starve stay at home moms so we go back to work. This government is my biggest hater n let me tell yall I won’t let them rob me of my time with my child. I only have one baby and I’m not going to miss her growing up to serve our colonizers. NO WAY!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The only advice I have for people early in their journey is to follow your heart as cheesy as that sounds and allow yourself to be emotional, don’t hold back be real. Those are some of the qualities that have made my journey so impactful, Following my heart, not holding back, and being real. No more clones or cookie cutter cut and paste energy! Bring on that authenticity please <3 BE YOU!!!!

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

The Autobiography Of Malcolm X is one of the most important books I’ve ever read. It opened my eyes even wider to the horrors we non white people face here in Amerika. Some of the most impactful nuggets of wisdom I took from the book is that liberals, republicans, democrats all these fancy political parties exist and yet when has Amerika ever been democratic with non white poeple….. when they stole Hawaii? When they turned free Africans into slaves? When they stick us in ghettos and starve us? WHEN!? THEY WON’T EVEN LISTEN TO THE MASS PROTESTS TO STOP FUNDING ISRAEL SO WE THE PEOPLE CAN HAVE BASIC HEALTHCARE N HOUSING LIKE!? I also learned your friends can turn on you when someone more “powerful” is in “charge” Ali was Blood Brothers with the X n he deserved more respect! This book has played such an important role in my development to walk alone even if everyone around you thinks your crazy, to fight the good fight, to stand firm in my beliefs that we will be free from white supremacy.
