We recently connected with Reese Boudreau and have shared our conversation below.

Reese, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Overtime I developed confidence and self esteem through my community and mindset. My amazing community of family, friends, customers, as well as other local businesses, have helped boost my confidence and remind me to be myself and commit. Not only this, but also learning that the people who value your differences and unique qualities will continue to support you no matter what! A big quality that will get you further in the small business world is having a big personality and a lot of passion… so learning this has truly helped me with confidence and self esteem!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My name is Reese and I’m the owner of Maisyn Creations! Maisyn Creations is my small business, where I sell glassware and other items with vinyl designs! I put a huge amount of effort into the quality of not only my products, but also my businesses impact! I started my business at the age of 14, as of October, 2022. I have had a big passion of being an entrepreneur since a very young age. You would always see me trying to start silly businesses. Selling things like rocks and leaves from my front yard when I was 4. At the age of 10, I began selling homemade dog treats to my friends, family, and other people in the neighborhood. But once I started Maisyn Creations near the end of 2022, I knew this was what I wanted to be committed to, and that this was just the beginning. Since starting Maisyn Creations, I have learned many new things, gained many new great relationships, made many mistakes, and I’m still continuing to do all of these things! I am so happy that I have been able to have this opportunity in my life and I can’t wait to continue!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three most impactful skills, knowledge, and qualities that I learned overtime would include how important confidence and personality are within you yourself, as well as your business. When it comes to showing confidence and personality through your business, this includes the colours, objects, etc. that show what you would like your brand to represent and what represents your brand itself. The next thing would be that building a community is important for the bones of your business! (It also helps with your confidence😉) Building a community not only online but also with people in the same space as you is so so important! I’m beyond excited and happy to keep have the community that I have now, and for the growth it has to come! Lastly, I’ve learned how important it is to build communication skills! When I first started Maisyn Creations, my communication skills were very very low. I was awkward, shy, and very quiet, but over time I’ve grown into a very talkative and friendly business owner! I enjoy talking to my customers and putting a smile on their faces!

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

The number one obstacle/challenge that I’m currently facing is growth as well as website building! I struggle to grow on social media, but am trying to learn how to take better photos and videos of my glassware which will later help me with my social media, as well as my site! I’m beyond excited to be learning about these new areas of my business, even though I’m struggling!
