We recently connected with Regina Altman and have shared our conversation below.
Regina , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Regina: A Passion for Beauty, Confidence, and Self-Love
My name is Regina but everyone calls me by my middle name Margold . I’m 23, bisexual, and a beauty-positive content creator from Mobile, Alabama, raised in the close-knit community of Trinity Garden. My love for beauty is deeply personal—it’s not just about makeup or fashion; it’s about confidence, self-expression, and the journey that brought me here.
As a teenager, I faced many challenges. I was bullied for my body and my learning disabilities, including dyslexia, and struggled with depression. I also have BPD. There was a time when others doubted me and tried to tear me down, but beauty became my refuge. Makeup and fashion were more than hobbies—they were tools that helped me find my voice and rebuild my confidence.
Growing up, I was captivated by the elegance of beauty icons from the ’50s, ’70s, and ’90s. Women like Janice Dickinson, Kelly Emberg, and Linda Morand inspired me with their boldness and individuality. I also admired Countess Vaughn, Mo’Nique, and Natalie Desselle-Reid for their unapologetic confidence and self-love. These women taught me that beauty is more than skin-deep—it’s about embracing who you are and never letting others define your worth.
Today, my passion for beauty fuels my mission to create a positive impact. I want to inspire others to love themselves as they are and express themselves however they choose. I believe that no matter your background, sexuality, size, or ability, you deserve to feel beautiful and confident. As God’s perfect creations, we all have inherent beauty, but the most radiant beauty comes from within—our kindness, self-love, and how we uplift others.
Through my platform, I aim to be a voice for self-acceptance and positivity. I know I can’t change the world overnight, but I hope to make a difference, one person at a time. Whether it’s through a bold makeup look or a message about self-love, I want to empower people to embrace their uniqueness and shine with confidence.
Beauty isn’t just about how we look—it’s about how we feel, how we treat others, and how we show up for ourselves. That’s the kind of beauty I celebrate, and that’s the message I hope to share with the world.
I’m also really serious about body positivity not just for one gender but for both genders.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
“Thank you so much for the chance to share my story and dreams. My journey as a beauty-positive content creator has been rooted in the belief that everyone deserves to feel confident, valued, and seen. Right now, I focus on empowering others to embrace their true selves and express their individuality, whether through makeup, fashion, or self-care.
What excites me most about my work is the opportunity to bring inclusivity and love to every aspect of what I do. In the future, I plan to create a makeup line designed for deeper and lighter skin tones to ensure that everyone can find shades that reflect their unique beauty. I’m also passionate about launching a skincare line called Energies, offering products for men and women, especially those with sensitive skin. The name Energies reflects the uplifting, positive community I’m building—a space where everyone feels they belong.
Fashion is another part of my vision. I dream of creating a clothing line for all sizes, celebrating body diversity, and designing stylish, easy-to-wear options for people with disabilities. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful and comfortable in what they wear, and I’m committed to making that a reality.
For now, my focus is on empowering women and others to be confident in their own skin and to express themselves unapologetically. Through my content and the Energies community, I want to spread positivity, encourage self-love, and inspire people to celebrate their uniqueness. My hope is to leave a lasting impact—helping others see their worth and embrace their beauty from within and beyond.”
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Resilience: Life hasn’t always been easy for me. I faced bullying, struggles with mental health, and learning disabilities like dyslexia. But what kept me moving forward was resilience—the ability to stand back up every time I was knocked down. I learned that setbacks don’t define you; how you respond to them does. For anyone early in their journey, I’d say: expect challenges, but don’t let them stop you. Use them as lessons to grow stronger. When you feel like giving up, remember why you started.
2. Self-Belief: For a long time, I let other people’s words and doubts overshadow my dreams. But I realized that if I didn’t believe in myself, no one else would. You have to be your biggest cheerleader, even when it feels like no one else is cheering. My advice is: trust yourself, even when you’re unsure. Your dreams are valid, and your voice matters. Take small steps, celebrate every win, and know that you are capable of more than you think.
3. Empathy: My struggles gave me the ability to see and connect with people on a deeper level. I know what it feels like to be overlooked, so I’ve made it my mission to create a space where people feel seen, loved, and valued. For anyone starting out, I encourage you to listen to others, share your story, and lift people up along the way. Empathy will not only help you build meaningful connections, but it will also give purpose to what you do.
If you’re early in your journey, my biggest advice is to keep going. Be patient with yourself, learn from every experience, and never lose sight of the impact you can make. Your journey is yours alone—embrace it, grow through it, and always believe in the power you have to make a difference.”

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
“The number one challenge I’m facing right now is managing my social anxiety and living with borderline personality disorder. Both can feel overwhelming at times, especially in a space where I’m constantly sharing myself with others. Social anxiety makes it difficult for me to fully put myself out there, even though I love connecting with people. With BPD, emotions can sometimes feel so intense that it’s hard to separate how I feel in the moment from the bigger picture.
To work through these challenges, I’ve been focusing on self-care and therapy. I’ve learned to be patient with myself, understanding that healing and progress take time. I practice grounding techniques, journal my thoughts, and lean on my faith and support system when things feel heavy. My goal is to create a balance where I can honor my feelings without letting them take over.
What gives me strength is the community I’m building. Knowing that my story and vulnerability can inspire others reminds me that my challenges don’t define me—they empower me to grow. I want people who are struggling to see that they’re not alone and that it’s okay to take things one day at a time. Every step forward, no matter how small, is a victory. Sharing my journey, even with its ups and downs, is a reminder that we’re all human, and there’s so much beauty in the process of learning to love and accept ourselves.”
