Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Regina Jazz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Regina , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Resilience, for me, was built through repetition—showing up even when things weren’t perfect. Music, reflection, and growth have taught me how to turn pressure into strength.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a vocalist and creative leader whose work lives at the intersection of artistry, faith, and storytelling. Professionally, I balance performing, teaching, and creative direction—whether that’s on stage or through educational and mentorship work. My focus has always been on using my voice not just as a sound, but as a tool for connection and expression.
What feels most exciting and special about my work is its intentionality. Every project I take on is rooted in authenticity and emotional honesty. As an artist, I’m deeply inspired by jazz and soul traditions, and I love creating spaces where music feels intimate, reflective, and human. As a leader, I’m passionate about helping others develop confidence, presence, and sustainability—especially vocal health and storytelling, which are central to my brand.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding my artistic footprint through new music and curated performances, while continuing to grow my educational and creative initiatives. I’m also intentional about building a brand that reflects depth, excellence, and purpose—one that reminds people that artistry and integrity can coexist beautifully.
At its core, everything I do is about impact: creating meaningful experiences, honoring craft, and leaving people feeling seen, inspired, and connected.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Everything I do is rooted in impact—meaningful experiences, artistic integrity, and genuine connection.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Over the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been artistic confidence and intentionality. Being at Berklee has pushed me to trust my voice—both technically and creatively—while deepening my understanding of musicianship, improvisation, and storytelling. I’ve become more comfortable taking risks in performance, allowing myself to be present in the moment rather than focused on perfection.
I’ve also grown in how I approach preparation and wellness as part of my artistry. I’m more disciplined about vocal health, rest, and mindfulness, which has made my performances more consistent and sustainable. As a jazz artist, I’ve learned to listen more deeply—to the band, to the space, and to the story within the music—resulting in performances that feel more connected and honest.
Overall, this past year has helped me evolve from simply delivering songs to truly inhabiting them, with greater freedom, clarity, and purpose on stage.
