Meet Regina Toliver

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Regina Toliver a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Regina, so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?
I’m sure everyone has heard “Let your haters be your motivators”, right?! Well I live by it! It really doesn’t bother me when people have negative things to say; whether directly or indirectly. I will always do what is best for me and I will keep pushing until I have reached my goals. Most people don’t know where I’ve come from, and all the hard work that I’ve put in to get to where I am. It was never handed to me.

I’ve always been driven to be successful and never tried to compete with anyone. Like the saying goes “Ya’ll keep hatin’ on me and God is going to continue blessing me in your face”. So no, it doesn’t really bother me that people always have something negative to say. It just means that you possess something that they do not. I always ask God to forgive my enemies, not that I really have them and keep it moving! I’ll never allow anyone to stop my money.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’d like to call myself a serial entrepreneur because I wear so many hats. I own a small online business (F.A,N.C.Y. Your Aura) that I launched 2018. It has been a success for the most part, in spite of the saturated market. Everyone seems to be doing the same thing these days, but the creative flow differs from person to person. It’s not always about the designer, sometimes it’s about how it makes the person feel that’s wearing it. I mean I can put on a pair of $15 Shein jeans and look and feel just as good compared to Norstrom $70 Topshop Jeans. Early last year, I released a book entitled “The Divine Manifestation” you can get that any place where books are sold. It is available on my website as well. In this book, I talk about how you can manifest anything your heart desires if you just have faith and believe. It works! Those that get it, get and those that don’t, won’t.

I also work in healthcare as a Medical Records Manager as well as a Houston Realtor with Epique Realty. I basically manage patient’s records and sell homes at the same time. Go figure! LOL! I do have a podcast as well “Truth Be Told w/ Gina Tae”. You can find this on iHeart Radio, Apple, Deezer and other digital platforms. I love to do the podcast, because it gives me the freedom to convey my thoughts with my audience and I absolutely love the positive feedback.

I am big on setting realistic goals for myself and almost ALWAYS execute. It always starts with a positive thought and a pep talk for me. “Regina, you got this! Nothing is impossible with God.” I obey and try to walk in my purpose, nothing but GOD! Perseverance won’t allow me to give up. I’ve planted my seed, now I’m watching it grow! I nurture everything that I put my heart into.

I’m sure you are wondering what’s next for me, well I plan to release my second book sometime this year as well as a skin care line. So yes, I stay very busy and again this is why I call myself a serial entrepreneur.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Now that I look back I think the three most important qualities that have impacted my life the most is my persistence, having self-discipline and being optimistic. The best advice I could give anyone is to set realistic goals. Know your life’s purpose and if you can’t find your purpose, pray on it and let God lead the way. Be authentic and true to yourself. Most importantly, never give up no matter how hard it gets.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing that my parents did was to stay on my ass! Meaning that they encouraged my self-worth, my self-confidence and my work ethic. They taught me to love myself first so that I would be able to love others, to give freely without expecting anything in return. They coached me on how to walk into a room and own it and never walk with my head down. They also showed me, by example what you get out of hard work and determination when you don’t give up. I owe it all to them and I try to instill that same upbringing into my sons.
