Hi Reginald, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Through many years of writing I learned over the years to be confident in all of my work before I allowed anyone to read it. My self esteem was sort of warped into that due to my confidence increasing so did my self esteem. Learning to take a critique without reacting negatively if you don’t agree with it will not only humble you but build your confidence as well.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m the CEO of my very own production company Derredge Enterainment . I specialize in webseries and full length indie films from dramas to comedies to thrillers. Currently filming a romantic comedy titled “The Upper Hand” for a few streaming services set to premiere later this year in Atlanta Georgia.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Be open to change. Don’t be afraid to do more to make yourself better. For years I was just a writer but once I started on the indie film circuit I became a director editor and producer.
Allow someone you don’t know to read your script. They don’t know you to spare your feelings. They will give it to you raw and honestly and you need it.
Go with your first instinct it’s the best one of them all and the one you’ll appreciate and be grateful for the most.
Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
Scheduling shooting dates. I’m getting better at it for the most part.
