Meet Ren Michele

We were lucky to catch up with Ren Michele recently and have shared our conversation below.

Ren, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
As an actress, I have challenged myself to work on my acting skills every day in some capacity. Whether it’s watching new TV shows/movies, observing certain actors/actresses that I relate to, writing my own work, sitting in front of the mirror practicing facial expressions, or even just people-watching in daily life – the list is endless. Don’t get me wrong, like anyone else, my creativity grows stagnant after a little while, so I try to find ways to reignite the creativity spark when it does. Personally, the most effective way is to be in nature while listening to an audible book, journaling, and getting in touch with myself and my emotions.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Hello, I’m Ren Michele, an actress based in Jacksonville, Florida. I have been acting in the community for three years and have had the opportunity to work with many talented artists and creatives. In 2022, I worked on the feature film, Success Camp by JCFilms, featuring Dean Cain, Braeden and Shane Sorbo, which debuted on Amazon Prime earlier this year. I portrayed a Correctional Officer and worked behind the scenes as a Production Assistant and with the camera crew as a Boom Operator.

Recently, I worked with local artist, Jeremy Ryan, and Kyle and Marquiette Dorrell from Weighed Sailor Productions on Jerome and Sarah, which won Best Documentary Short at Spotlight International Film Festival in July 2023. I also had the opportunity to star in local musician, Kyru Wik’s music video for his song Sober, directed by the founders of LOL Jax Film Festival, Adam and Monique Madrid.

I’m almost always working on a project and some of the ones I’ve done recently are being kept secret until they’re released. There’s lots to look forward to, so stay tuned for more!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I started acting professionally in 2019, but I have been acting for many years. So far, the biggest impact in my career has been studying at New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in 2019. I learned skills that have stayed with me in my career and met amazing individuals that I currently collaborate with and call my friends.

The entertainment industry is challenging so it’s important to check yourself and stay true to yourself and your values. Be confident but humble. In my opinion, humility and empathy are the most crucial qualities in this industry, if you are in it for the right reasons anyways.

I recommend to anyone getting started as an actor/actress to have a list of boundaries and things you will or will not do in this industry. You want to step into a role you resinate with and are comfortable portraying. If you stand for nothing, you’ll fall for anything.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
My favorite part about what I do is meeting new people, so I’m always open to discussions about collaborations, whether it’s modeling for print ads or photoshoots, commercials and film. I have a wide acting range, but my favorite genres to be a part of are psychological thrillers, drama, action, and faith films. I’ve also reached a level in my career where I’m currently seeking representation by talent agencies. You can find me at @renmicheleofficial on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. I look forward to connecting!
