Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Renae Myrie. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Renae, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I discovered my purpose during a time in my life when I felt deeply disappointed in myself. I felt lost and worthless, like I wasn’t doing anything meaningful with my life. Growing up, I was bright and full of potential, but somewhere along the way, I let that go. My life became consumed with partying, and I knew my parents and even my son were disappointed in me.
One day, I looked in the mirror and made a decision to change. I began a journey of soul-searching, spending more time alone, getting to know myself, and reconnecting with who I truly was. I started practicing yoga, reading more, eating healthier, and reflecting deeply. Through that process, I uncovered hidden talents I never fully acknowledged like formulating natural hair and skincare products, and designing. That was the moment my purpose began to unfold.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a multi-passionate creative and entrepreneur from Jamaica, and my journey is rooted in transformation, healing, and self-expression. I currently operate several brands that reflect different aspects of who I am and what I love.
One of my main focuses is ESSENTIALS by RENAE MYRIE, a line of 100% organic, handmade body oil perfumes suitable for people with sinus issues, allergies, asthma, sensitive skin, or those who prefer alcohol-free, chemical-free self-care. Skincare, and hair care products created using natural Jamaican ingredients. It’s more than just skincare, it’s wellness.
I also run Aura Koutura, a fashion brand that brings together dancehall culture, custom couture, and bold statement wear. It’s all about confidence and creativity, especially for women who want to stand out. Under this umbrella, I launched Puckish by Aura Koutura, a luxury lingerie line that caters to special moments — honeymoons, birthdays, pole dancers, and even OnlyFans creatives who want something unique and empowering.
What excites me most is creating from a place of authenticity and being able to help people feel seen, confident, and cared for, whether that’s through skincare, fashion, or storytelling.
Each of my businesses is personal to me, rooted in passion, and created with intention. I want people to know that no matter where you start or how lost you feel, you can always turn things around and build something meaningful from your story.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three qualities that had the biggest impact on my journey are self-awareness, resilience, and creativity.
Self-awareness came from taking time to truly reflect on who I was and what I wanted out of life. Once I stopped living for others’ expectations and started getting real with myself, everything shifted. I advise anyone early in their journey to spend quiet time with themselves. The better you know yourself, the more intentional your path becomes.
Resilience was key when things got hard and they did, many times and it is still hard. There were moments I doubted myself, felt ashamed of my past, or didn’t know how I was going to make things work. But I kept pushing. I want others to know: failure and discomfort are part of the journey. What matters is not giving up. Use every setback as a setup for your next level.
And lastly, creativity. Tapping into my gifts of formulating products and fashion designing helped me turn pain into purpose. Whether it’s making body oils or designing custom outfits, creating gives me freedom and joy. For anyone looking to develop their creativity, start by trying things with no pressure to be perfect. Explore, play, and trust your unique vision. Your gift doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s, it just has to feel real to you.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Absolutely — I’m always open to meaningful partnerships and collaborations, especially with people who share similar values around creativity, authenticity, and growth.
I’m currently looking to collaborate with:
• Influencers, models, and content creators in beauty, fashion, wellness, or dancehall culture who align with my brand’s bold, natural, and unapologetic energy.
• Retailers or boutiques interested in stocking organic, Jamaican-made skincare and hair care products.
• Fashion stylists, photographers, designers, and event organizers looking to feature unique, custom pieces or collaborate on creative projects, shoots, or shows.
• Investors and business partners who are passionate about wellness, fashion, or lifestyle brands and are interested in supporting the expansion of product lines.
