We recently connected with Renee Dawn and have shared our conversation below.
Renee , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I took the chance on myself on that scary yet brave day in April of 2022, the universe has had my back. I can’t even believe I’m writing this, honestly. I’m living my dream. It took 40 years to get here. But I finally did it. It’s not to say I have everything figured out, I do not. But I’ve learned a hell of a lot on my journey and I’m so grateful that I get to share what I’ve learned in my career now. Seeing the value my experience has provided in other people’s lives is extremely rewarding and humbling and for that I am so grateful.
I moved to Vancouver when I was 18. Went to school full time while working two jobs. Once I was done school I worked 2 full time jobs. 9-5pm managing at Holt Renfrew and then serving at a members Club 5:30-2:30pm every night. Worked my way up to being one of the top sales executives in the cosmetics industry. Launched some big brands into Western Canada that became some of the leading brands in the Country. Built them an empire that made millions. Moved to different industries where I led hundreds of people and quickly turned suffering business to be profitable. I also got my Iyengar teacher training certificate which took many years and thousands of hours of training.
I did all of that while I was in an extremely abusive relationship. (if you want to hear the full story you can listen to my podcast that I’ll link at the bottom) I left that relationship April 3rd 2022 and left my career of 18 years, a month later. Literally a complete clean sweep of my entire life. Needless to say I was burned out and pretty much took a year off to try to breathe. Still working on that. A year after that I started teaching more yoga. I took my training for personal learning and never had the intention of teaching . In that year I built my way up to teaching 8-12 classes a week and if you teach you know exactly what I’m talkin about – it’s hard work! But wow did I learn a lot, still am. And I now have waitlisted classes every week. Pretty cool. I slowly built my way back up to being able to get out of bed and walk my way home to myself. To anyone who has made huge changes in their lives in honour of living your most authentic & meaningful life, I see you and I honour you. Life is hard and you are brave.
In that year of teaching I started to build my brand. My business. And if you’re wondering what my business is? It’s me. I am a multi – faceted teacher, healer, metamorphic mentor, psychic & spiritual advisor. Who do I market to? Me. Who’s my main audience? Me. Who do I want to inspire? Me. Where do I get my inspiration from? Me. Who do I work for? Me. I need to be inspired by myself in dreams that it may inspire you. Because I am you. My business is a reflection of my soul so that’s what you’re going to experience.
I put my soul into everything I do because that’s what I believe in doing, but also I believe that that’s what you should get. Just so that we don’t waste any time, and you get deep value from our time together. I do business differently, because I’m different. I teach people how to think differently, because I think differently. And I’ve been successful at transforming people’s lives & businesses in many different ways. And that is because it’s always been all about the people for me. And since I took the chance on myself on that scary yet brave day in April of 2022, the universe has had my back. I lead from my truth, my wisdom and my experience. It’s a combination and they flow. Sometimes individually and sometimes together. I’m a dynamic person who has dug deep within myself to dust out the nooks and crannies that were gettin pretty damn thick in there. Let’s be real. And that is because out of integrity I cannot sit here and offer my support to you if I’m not doing the work. That would be lying. SO, with all of that being said…woah hey?! I didn’t expect to share this, to be honest, but it feels good.
Because this next chapter of my life is called IT’S MY TURN. And, it can be yours too.
I’m not here to waste your time. I’m here to connect to your soul. My clients are soul clients and my work is not cookie cutter. It’s all individual, catered to you and not recycled coaching ideas. I am your guide, support and maybe a hand to hold as you walk your way home back to you. The real “work” is always going to be all you. And I’m here to support you. Or maybe just hold space for you. Whether it’s saying hello, or you’re interested in working with me let’s set up a call and let’s chat about it. For example, a mentoring consultation call would look like : You’ll tell me a little bit about yourself and your life, where you want to go, some of the challenges you may be facing and I’ll let you know upfront how I can support you to get to where you want to be. Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
There are many but one that stands out. Stay true to who you are. Life will always pull you in many different directions so your internal compass has to be deep, strong and committed if you are comitted to your journey so your personal practises to bring you back to who you really & truly are, are paramount.
