Meet Renee Phoenix

We recently connected with Renee Phoenix and have shared our conversation below.

Renee, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic is rooted in my genuine enjoyment of being productive. I thrive on learning, mastering new skills, and excelling in various areas. However, I am actively working towards achieving a healthier work/life balance, where I can maintain my enthusiasm for work while also prioritizing my well-being and relationships outside of work.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m the lead singer of Fit For Rivals, a band hailing from Jacksonville, FL. We’ve built a dedicated global fan base that continues to grow. Sharing stages with renowned acts like I Prevail, Flyleaf and Dayseeker, we’ve taken our performances all around the world, from Canada to Qatar. And now, we’re gearing up for a release on September 6th – “Bad B*tch Supreme,” a powerful anthem in collaboration with our punk rock friend, GRLwood. This track is all about embracing strength, individuality, and self-worth. With elements of rock, alternative vibes, and a touch of quirkiness, our music resonates with bands like Queens of the Stone Age, and the Foo Fighters.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Perseverance helped me navigate setbacks and failures. Adaptability allowed me to embrace change and stay relevant. Building meaningful relationships and seeking mentors enriched my experience. To those starting their journey, I advise developing these qualities: see challenges as opportunities for growth and stay curious and open to learning.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
Balancing work and life becomes an intricate challenge, particularly when work is genuinely enjoyable. Striking a healthy balance takes deliberate effort in setting boundaries, allocating time to recharge. Learning to cherish both work accomplishments and personal well-being is my goal.
