Hi Reneka, so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?
Some things we just can not avoid, and haters/nay-sayers fall in the category of inevitable encounters. I’ve had people say that my business in fashion wouldn’t excel; yet, I’m still able to do it after 7+ years. When I started keeping my ‘why’ at the forefront, the things I could not control started to affect me less and less. Why am I doing this? Why am I passionate about this project? Remembering my ‘why’ drowned out the irrelevant noise from those haters/nayers. Like Beyoncé said, “You know you’re that chick when you cause all this conversation”. There’s a bigger purpose, and I know I deserve more.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am Reneka Moore, Entrepreneur & Fashion Muva. Most of my supporters come from my entrepreneurship ventures in the fashion industry as a Designer/fashion stylist of Opulent Manner and Co-founder/Host of The Allure for Moore which is a YouTube channel and now a company that services event productions, content creation, and film. I have a few things I am excited about and you are getting the tea. If you’re not familiar with Opulent Manner, it’s my fashion brand that has become the Fashion Experience providing luxe wear for women and men, wardrobe consultations, fashion advice, and more. I work with the everyday woman/man to stars on the rise to help build up their image and concepts. Opulent Manner will be showcasing our 2024 Winter collection during the Essence Festival on June 29, 2024. The Allure For Moore will be putting on our first stage play Cité Des Arts in downtown Lafayette on August 10th & 11th of this year, which will be directed by my Husband Levi Moore. In addition to our stage productions, I will be part of the creative process and one of the actresses in an upcoming original series. In the midst of all of that good news, The Allure for Moore will be opening up a content space for photographers, podcasts, and dancers in Spring 2024. This year feels all about elevation and increase.
