firstName}, thank you so much for agreeing to talk with us about a deeply personal and sensitive topic. Postpartum depression affects so many in the community and hearing from someone who has overcome PPD might help someone who is going through it right now. For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience
Pregnancy has never been an easy thing for my body to do. Although I have an 11-year-old daughter I never wanted her to grow up alone. I suffer from endometriosis and have trouble conceiving. I tried everything, including going through with IVF. As soon as I was about to go to my IVF appointment, I found out I was pregnant. I was so excited!

This pregnancy was a little different since I was considered High Risk the entire time due to my age and I also have a heart defect. I had to go to the doctor almost every week throughout my whole pregnancy which was a lot. I also have a business (Dripped In Stones) (Ri With The T) creating custom wired crystal jewelry and doing tarot and pendulum readings. I chose to put it on pause while I was pregnant. I didn’t want to do anything regarding using too much of my energy or with the spirit realms.

Seven months later I had my daughter and of course dealing with so many challenges to have her I was grateful and excited she was finally here. We got home and my fiancé’ went back to his daily routine with work. I hadn’t had a baby in 10 years, so I was a bit rusty when it came to starting over with a new baby. I had forgotten about the missed sleep, the needing me every moment of the day. Every baby is different. My previous daughter wasn’t so attached. My father had also passed away when she was 6 weeks. That was really a hard pill to swallow. I just began to feel so tired, alone, and depressed. I wasn’t eating much, and just didn’t feel like doing anything nor did I feel myself. Don’t get me wrong I wasn’t alone. I have a great support system. My friends made sure I was ok everyday but had no idea I was feeling this way. Every mother experience with Post Partum is different. I didn’t want to hurt or do anything bad to my child. I just felt like I was a horrible mom, person, friend, fiancé’, everything. I ended up letting my doctor know when she asked at my 6-week post-partum checkup. She gave me a lot of resources to look into for extra support.

I reached out to a few of the groups on the list the doctor gave me. I also opened up to my friends on how I was feeling. Since I work with Healing Crystals and the metaphysics, I used that as well to help me battle Post Partum. I made sure I did as much mediation as possible, and I listened to a lot of music as well. I also wrote in a journal that seemed to help a lot. I’d say I had Post Partum for the first 3 months then things got a little easier. I also had more support and help physically as I went back to work. Everything seemed to work itself out.

I would say that if you are battling Post Partum, no matter how much you feel alone or want to actually be alone it helps to talk to someone or at least get out and get some me time. I think that’s when I really started to feel like me again. Once I got up and back to my normal routine. I went back to work and went out with friends here and there. You should also try to find a group, Life Coach or someone who can really relate to help you through it. Also make sure you take some quiet self-care time as well.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I have two businesses catered to spirituality. “Dripped In Stones” provides Custom Wired Wrapped Crystal Jewelry, Sage, Candles, Pendulums, and other metaphysical items. “Ri With The T” provides Spiritual Counseling, Tarot, Oracle, Wax and Pendulum Readings. I also provide House Blessings and Prays, along with energy cleansing!

I like to say Spirituality is a lifestyle and not a, gimmick, scam, or joke to me. I try to live my life spiritually grounded and balanced daily. I have always been into stones, astrology and metaphysics since I was a child. I always saw, felt or smelled things. I had very supportive parents who taught me about my gifts. I am an empath and I have a few of the Clair-senses.

I use the gifts and magic that I was born with to help me carry out successful businesses. I am certified in Crystal Healing, Tarot and Life Coaching which I use for Spiritual Advice. Although my love for Crystals have been since the beginning I dug deeper into them when I couldn’t find any relief for all that I was going through with Endometriosis. So I decided to take the Holistic, Spiritual route. I learned about all Crystals and their properties. I used them to meditate and slept with them under my pillow. I wanted to feel protected and grounded all day so I decided to buy some wired wrapped jewelry. Once viewing some I thought it was so cool and wanted to make some myself, So without any guide or watching any videos I made my first piece. It was effortless, a natural gift. Once I started wearing jewelry I was making people started asking me where I got it and BOOM! Dripped In Stones was born!

Ri With The T focuses more on my natural gifts. I am always giving friends advice and have a good intuition on things, So I wanted to see how my gifts would work with a little help. That’s when I decided to dive into Tarot, and I was dead on every time. I took a course although I was a natural to get certified in Tarot. I also make House Blessing and Protection sprays along with different types of candles based on your intent. I have created my own Oracle Deck of Cards “Ri With The T Feminine Oracle Deck. You may purchase on my site, and I am working on getting a store space soon.

So far I have been very grateful for the love, support and success from everyone who supports my business. My best friend Portia Walker and are working on a Rage/Break Room called Infuriated. Here you can let off some stress and steam by smashing and breaking things. It will be a mobile business for now where you can book us for Events or Parties!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My qualities that were impactful in my life is being Determined. If I want something I am not going to stop until I get it. I was raised that way by my dad, to never give up. Resilience is another quality I have that I cherish. No matter what happens to me good or bad I am going to fight through it and never give up. Ever since I was little, I just knew that bad days don’t last always. I would also say you have to have extreme patience owning a business. Some days may be slower than others. You may be spending more than you sell. But just know that it will not always be that way and success will come if you keep being persistent.

I am also very honest and generous. I feel that is a great quality to have as a business owner. If I am out of a product I tell my customers. If their package may be a little late or I mess up. I own it and give them free gifts or a discount. I am always happy when my customers are happy.

If you are early in your journey and if you are passionate about what you are doing and know it is your purpose I say to keep pushing and don’t stop until you get to where you want to be. It will not be easy, but if you want it you will have it!

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am looking for other Spiritual beings to connect with. Anyone who does readings or just into metaphysics I would love to connect with. I will be starting Ri With The T live and will be needing special guest. They can reach out to me @riwiththet on Instagram or email me at riwiththet@gmail.com
