We were lucky to catch up with Ricardo Breceda recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ricardo, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
My profound purpose as a self-taught metal artist and what propelled my art into a small business came from the deep love I have for my daughters. The desire to provide for them fueled my determination. It all unfolded as a labor of love, to create a Tyrannosaurus rex for my oldest daughter, Lianna Arroyo. At the time she had a fascination with “Jurassic Park” the movie. I don’t believe it was my best work, but she fell in love with it. As well as other people who saw the 15ft T-rex welded together out of sheet metal. Driven by the joy of my daughter and peoples reactions, I devoted myself to refining my work. In every sculpture there is a piece of my journey and with that I discovered a profound sense of fulfillment in creating, not just for myself, but for the legacy I want to leave for my daughters and the community that supports my artistic journey.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
In my artistic career, every day is a new opportunity to learn and grow. I’ve been passionately working on crafting metal sculptures that seamlessly blend with nature, sparking the imagination and creating unique pieces that resonate with all that see my work. Professionally, I have also been focusing on the growth of my outdoor gallery which is at 44450 Highway 79 S. Aguanga, CA 92536. I envision not just an art space but a destination for those individuals who appreciate the artistry behind each peace and those who seek adventure. The idea is to create a welcoming environment where people can not only appreciate the sculptures but also enjoy a day outdoors, where they can immerse themselves in art and nature, fostering a sense of community and creativity. The joy of seeing my work connect with others fuels my dedication to both my craft, the community that surrounds my art.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
For those starting their journey, my advice is to stay patient and committed to their dream. As long as you have passion, love and dedication you already on the right path. There will always be challenges, but don’t ever shy away from them, because they are an opportunity to learn. Most importantly, enjoy the process. Artistic growth is a journey, and each step, no matter how small contributes to it.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I’m am seeking a partner who shares my enthusiasm for art, community, and the transformative power of open spaces. I have a vision to transform my 20 acre gallery into a captivating park. We can build a haven that not only showcases my art but also becomes a destination for people to experience the creativity amid the tranquility of nature. I would love to discuss this opportunity further and explore how someones investment and involvement can contribute to making this vision a reality and create something extraordinary for people all around the world that visit Southern California.
