We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ricardo Franco a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ricardo, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Life’s trials and tribulations . Facing situations that you might not see yourself winning or overcoming but through the confidence that grows through those same hurdles give you the confidence and raises your self esteem behind measure.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m a second generation restauranteur and second generation Mexican American . My parents came here with nothing but a pocket full of hopes and dreams. With hard work my dad and uncle opened up a little carry out pizza shop in Chicago that was in 1984 . I’m here now to carry that torch and keep being a humble taquero but with the Sugar Skull Grill twist! In Kansas City I’m working on setting the foundation as being consistent with bringing nothing but the Finest in street style eatery.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
