We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rick Warner a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Rick, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
I’ve always been taught from early on to be giving and sharing with other people and not to be selfish. So I’ve always tried to be generous with my time to others when it comes to listening to other than people that need someone to speak with just to hear them out, but equally generous to people that may be in need of help in some sort of way. It doesn’t have to be just giving someone money to being generous or buying them food sometimes generosity could be found in other ways like maybe helping someone with a ride to work because their car broke down or you see someone struggling carrying a couch going upstairs but yet you jump out of your car to go and help that person so you’re being generous with your time. Or maybe it’s offering volunteer services to people in need whenever you are able to set aside time for different causes

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m a person of many passions of things I enjoy doing in my life from creating digital artwork and working with graphics, to filming and creating videos as a filmmaker and Director. You could say that I’m a person with many hats so currently right now I’m the Executive Director for ERC- Extraterrestrial Research Center and I’m also the Lead Investigator for Phantom Detectives which is a paranormal investigation research team. I’m also the USA ambassador to one of the largest UFO investigative agencies in Italy, which is. FUI- Italian UFO Federation. Some of my hobbies I enjoy are singing karaoke, playing the ukulele and Handan Drums. I currently live in the East Coast in the state of Delaware..

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1) always try to be the best in everything you do and strive for excellence.
2) work on following through with things that you tell people you’re going to do and don’t make promises you can’t keep.
3) always be on time and let others know if you’re going to be running late and more importantly, always treat others with kindness and respect the way you would like to be treated.
Always think about how you want people to respect and treat you and do the same to others. Always think about how you can conduct yourself as a professional and set a good example for other people and remember that everything isn’t just about you, but it’s also about the feelings of other people that you run into along your journey..

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When you start feeling overwhelmed, you need to ask yourself some important questions such as are you biting more than you can chew? In other words, are you taking on more than you can handle? If you feel overwhelmed with too many things to do just remind yourself that you’re only human and you’re not perfect even though you may be doing the best that you can. No one can expect more than that. Try to handle one thing at a time rather than trying to handle several things at the same time and see if that makes you feel less overwhelmed. If you have too many things on your plate see if there’s people around you that can help you accomplish some of these tasks so you feel less overwhelmed..
