Meet Ro Nava

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ro Nava. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Ro, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from my family. Growing up in a hispanic house hold all they know is work and provide. My father used to always tell me what ever I do make sure I go out with a bang. So thats what I live by and thats what i try to inspire in people today. We all have dreams and we can all achieve it once you put your mind to it.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I come from a world that wants to motivate and inspire people. My story is that if a young hispanic male that never went to college can be out in this world and make it than anyone can make it. We live in a society where people are quick to be so negative and put someone down. I think thats where the issue is, love one another and support one another. When I started tattooing no one believed in me but that was the same fire I used to push harder and prove everyone wrong. So to everyone that gets the chance to read this my message to you is keep pushing no matter what circumstance and never give up.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My advice to anyone in whatever profession you are trying to get in is study and practice. How does the saying go “practice makes perfect” well its very true. The problem I see with people is everyone wants to make money but don’t want to do things to make the money. You have to motivate yourself and focus so you can push through, anything is possible just stay on track. For me it was an extremely rough road but I refuse to quit and thats what advice people is do not give up and keep your faith high.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
The person that always motivated me and pushed me the most ever since I was a child was my uncle who has always been a father to me, but recently on Dec. 25th he lost his battle fighting liver cancer. One of the few words he told me before passing was to not be sad and to push harder, so thats what I do and will forever continue to do in his honor. I know im not the only one that has gone through something like this, its definitely hard but we all have to push through and turn the flame up higher.
