Meet Roamy

We were lucky to catch up with Roamy recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Roamy, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?

This was the hardest part to master when creating music. I stayed home while my roommates at the time would go out every night to drink and party. All while i stayed home and worked on producing music

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My name is Roamy and I am a music producer who also has been djing for the last couple of years all through out southern california

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Going out and showing up but not only showing up but showing out. Go out into the music scene and go meet people. This industry is more about whole you know.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I look for music producers /singer song writers to work on songs with that i know in the net 10 years the producers or singers I am working with are still working on music.
