Meet Robenson Lauvince

We were lucky to catch up with Robenson Lauvince recently and have shared our conversation below.

Robenson, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.
When you dedicate yourself to do something positive, it is inevitable to encounter criticism. The saying goes, if no one is talking about what you’re doing, you might not be doing it right. That’s why I focus on my work, drawing motivation from those who express negativity and criticism, as it signifies that I am on the right path. I choose to work quietly and let my work speak for itself.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a filmmaker, the founder of Clearshot Entertainment. The most important aspect of what I do is that I can express my thoughts in a unique way. As a creator, I have the power to envision anything and bring it to reality. I cherish the ability to inspire people through my work. Recently, I participated as a panelist at Sundance, one of the largest film festivals globally. This opportunity allowed me to represent the entire Caribbean, particularly my home country, Haiti. It was a rewarding experience in my career, and I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of it.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The journey I’ve been on has been shaped significantly by three key qualities: persistence, determination, and motivation. These qualities have been my driving force. For those at the beginning of their journey, my advice is to establish clear objectives and maintain a strong sense of determination. Starting with education and mastering the basics is a solid foundation for success. It’s about setting a direction, staying focused, and you will thrive from there.

As a filmmaker, I strongly value collaboration. I am open to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering an environment where we can freely exchange ideas. Each person contributes something unique to the table, and this collaborative approach opens up new opportunities for everyone involved. Embracing diversity is crucial to me, and I am willing to work with anyone as long as we share a common goal.
