We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Robert Lozano. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Robert below.
Robert, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?
I did this by not caring what anyone says. When I started I had no clue what I was doing or where to start. It was like learning a different language. The very few I asked left me on read and one even told me pick a different hobby. That just added fuel to the fire.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Photographer/art creator. I am driven by the pursuit of quality over quantity. My passion lies in capturing moments that inspire and evoke emotions. Photography is not just a creative outlet for me; it serves as a therapeutic experience, allowing me to find solace and express my unique perspective on the world. I am constantly learning and evolving, embracing each opportunity as a chance to grow as an artist. I find inspiration in the world around me and in the stories of others, and I am equally dedicated to inspiring those around me. I consider myself a perpetual student of photography, always open to learning and willing to assist others on their creative journeys. My sincere wish is for everyone to succeed, and I am eager to extend my support to anyone in need.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I believe in taking action and learning by doing. When I started my journey, I utilized resources like YouTube videos and bought relevant books, although I must admit my short attention span posed challenges and I haven’t finished any of the books, but they look nice on my book shelf haha. Nonetheless, this trait served as a catalyst, pushing me to focus intensely during the time I did invest. My advice to others would be to dive in, practice consistently, and adapt along the way. Continuous hands-on experience has been my most valuable teacher. What we’re we talking about again? Jk jk
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Absolutely, I’m always eager to collaborate with fellow artists who share my passion for photography as a true art form. I value humility and appreciate the talents of those I’ve collaborated with previously. If you’re an artist, photographer, or creator who believes in the genuine essence of art, I welcome you to connect with me. Let’s create meaningful, ego-free collaborations that celebrate the beauty of creativity. Reach out through my email or social media, and let’s embark on this artistic journey together.
