Meet Robert Pryor

We recently connected with Robert Pryor and have shared our conversation below.

Robert, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
Keeping my creativity alive is extremely important, especially since I’m so into content creation. Being able to keep things fresh and exciting can be difficult from time to time but, overall, I love it. I have always enjoyed flexing my creative muscles ever since I was young. When I was a child, I would have art or school projects that needed to be completed. I would get help from my mother, who is an extremely creative person. Seeing her creativity at that young age sparked the creativity in me that I didn’t even know about yet.

Over the years I have learned to truly embrace my creativity and see where it leads me. I’m an artist, so to be able to embrace all the forms of creativity I have has been awesome. Even though I am pushing myself in so many different ways, I still allow myself to do new things. Even if it’s something that seems totally unrelated to my normal routine. For me, personally, it allows me to draw inspiration and use that newfound information and experience in my personal work. The world is such a big place, with new and different views and ways of doing things. Being flexible enough to use what I learn along the way really helps me keep my creativity alive.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
The best way I can describe myself is as a creator. I am focused on cosplaying, voice acting, and being an artist. I love being able to combine all my passions into one. I cosplay characters like Link, Fatgum, Wirt, and several others. I utilize techniques I have learned from my friends who are in film to elevate my videos. I have picked up skills like lighting and editing, which are a big help.  I’m such an expressive person and I love bringing that to my content whenever I take videos or photos. These skills play into the acting portion of what I do, and I like to convey that through big expressions and motions. For voice acting, I’m honing my craft and seeking roles as they become available. Within the field of art, I’m working on a graphic novel I will hopefully release at the end of this year.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities that were extremely important for me on my journey would be tenacity, passion, and authenticity. Having the will and drive to continue, even if things aren’t looking your way, is so important to me. Constantly creating can be taxing, especially when your views or engagement don’t always reach super large numbers.

This leads into the next quality, which is passion. I have a love for creating, so I try to do it will all my heart. I work to create art and content that fuels and drives me. Art that will bring joy to others and (hopefully) uplift someone else.

And finally, being authentic and showing up for myself. I like for people to see all the things that make me who I am. When you see a post, video, or art from me, I want you to see what’s in my soul. I like to think that if what I do can inspire even just one person to follow their passions and heart, then it’s completely worth it.

These are things that have kept me going and continue to fuel me up. Life can become difficult, and we can sometimes be met with failure. How you act in those failures determines how things turn out. It’s up to us to transmute those failures into lessons from which we can grow.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents have done for me has been to support me in all my endeavors. I know it is hard because they didn’t always fully understand my passions and what I was into growing up, but they still showed me so much love and support.
