Robert, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
My journey in soccer, which I played for almost 20 years, has been deeply intertwined with the values of discipline, teamwork, and resilience. From a young age, my parents and coaches played pivotal roles in shaping my self-esteem and instilling the confidence needed to lead.
When I was 12, I first stepped into the role of team captain. It was a momentous occasion, one that came with great responsibility and pride. The unwavering support from my parents and the trust placed in me by my coaches were the bedrock upon which I built my confidence. They taught me that leadership is not just about giving directions on the field, but also about being a role model off it.
For 15 years, I had the honor of leading my team through victories and challenges. Every match, every training session has been a learning experience, teaching me the importance of perseverance and the power of unity. Leadership has taught me to listen, to motivate, and to always strive for excellence, not just for myself, but for the entire team.
As I reflect on my journey, I am grateful for the lessons learned and the people who believed in me. Their faith was the catalyst that helped me grow into a leader, both on and off the pitch.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My approach to my career has always been deeply rooted in dedication, focus, and a commitment to excellence. Throughout my journey, I’ve strived to be a leader who not only drives success but also fosters a supportive and nurturing environment for my clients, friends, and family.
My role as a talent manager is much more than a job; it’s a passion. I am incredibly focused on setting and achieving goals, ensuring that my clients receive the best possible opportunities to showcase their talents. It’s my mission to help them reach their fullest potential, whether it’s landing a pivotal role, navigating the intricacies of the industry, or building a sustainable and rewarding career.
Serving my clients is at the core of what I do. I take pride in understanding their unique needs, aspirations, and challenges. This personalized approach allows me to tailor my strategies to not only meet but exceed their expectations. It’s about creating a path to success that is both fulfilling and impactful.
Leadership, to me, means being a steadfast source of support and guidance. I am deeply committed to my friends and family, ensuring that they too feel valued and empowered. Balancing professional and personal relationships requires dedication and empathy, qualities I strive to embody every day.
In every endeavor, my goal is to achieve the best possible outcomes for those I represent and care about. I am grateful for the trust placed in me and remain committed to delivering excellence, fostering growth, and celebrating the successes of my clients, friends, and family.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Being open-minded, curious, knowing as much as possible about your profession and industry standards.
What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
The past 18 months have undoubtedly been some of the most challenging times in our industry. The double strikes have brought about unprecedented disruptions, affecting not only the production schedules but also the livelihoods of countless actors, crew members, and industry professionals. We had hoped for a swift recovery post-pandemic, but the reality has been far more complex.
One of the primary challenges has been the uncertainty surrounding project timelines. Productions have been delayed or canceled, leading to significant financial and emotional strain for many. Actors, in particular, have faced difficulties in securing roles, with fewer opportunities available and fierce competition for the limited parts that do come up.
Additionally, the strikes have highlighted underlying issues within the industry, such as fair wages, working conditions, and the need for more comprehensive support for creative professionals. While these conversations are crucial and long overdue, the immediate impact has been a period of stagnation and instability.
Navigating this landscape has required adaptability and resilience. As a talent manager, my focus has been on providing steadfast support and guidance to my clients. This has meant exploring alternative opportunities, such as voice-over work, digital content creation, and international markets, to help maintain their visibility and income streams during this tough period.
Despite these challenges, I remain optimistic about the future. The industry’s resilience is built on the passion and creativity of its people. While the recovery may be slower than anticipated, I believe we will emerge stronger and more united, with a renewed focus on equity and sustainability.
In the meantime, my commitment to my clients is unwavering. Together, we will continue to navigate these challenges, adapt to the evolving landscape, and seize every opportunity that comes our way.
