We recently connected with Robin Ogg and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Robin with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I am the granddaughter of an immigrant from Belfast, Ireland and my work ethic comes from the opportunity given to me for a better life. My work ethic is an internal drive to always surprise myself with what I accomplish and to push myself through the hard times to have the reward of achieving my goals.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Robin Ogg and I am a metal fabrication artist, I work in partnership with my husband Ronnie, together we create one of a kind metal art and signage. I run a 4’ x 8’ plasma table and design all sorts of art. We are located in Crockett, Tx in the Historic Downtown District. We have rebuilt a 5,000sqft building from 1901 where we build out art. We will build for anyone, anywhere, we do travel for installation if anyone is in the market for metal art fabrication.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My skills came from self teaching in my field, I did not go to school for running my plasma table rather just researched hundreds of hours on my own time to learn how to operate my machine. If you have a real passion for something don’t let anyone or anything get in your way or stop your progress.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My husband has been the most helpful in overcoming challenges as we are a team and we grow together. I learn from him every day.
