Meet Robin R. Haynes

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Robin R. Haynes. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Robin, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience honestly came from my divorce. After having gone through my divorce which was an extremely dark and challenging time in my life, I promised GOD, myself, and my son that I/we would NEVER be in that space again.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a business advisor and financial strategist. My passion in the financial space comes from GOD (who gave me this assignment in 2012), and my wanting to see as many individuals and business owners become and remain as financially successful and sustainable as possible.

One of my biggest motivators is having the ability to impact and change mindsets (which changes behaviors) as it relates to financial success and sustainability is so rewarding!

In terms of “new stuff” coming up, I can’t reveal too much right now, BUT let’s just say I am overly excited for 2024 and ALL THAT IS IN STORE!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three most important qualities and skills that have traveled with me throughout my career are: how to overcome financial challenges (again my divorce taught me so much), the ability to understand how finances work (I mean REALLY UNDERSTAND), and having the mindset of doing what it takes to be financially successful and sustainable.

For individuals and business owners who are just starting out, being successful doesn’t mean having a lot of money, titles, and accolades (honestly that’s a fraction of the equation), it simply means setting goals, determining what strategies are needed for your to assist you with achieving your desired goal(s) and most importantly STAYING FOCUSED!

As you are beginning your journey, watch your circle, remember everyone does not AND will not have the same mindset as you, and surround yourself with individuals who inspire you. If you are the smartest one in your circle, it’s time to change your circle, simply because your existing circle will not challenge you to be and do your best!

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
My biggest area of growth in the past 12 months is learning how to say “NO”. When I first started my entrepreneurial journey, I felt I had to be the hero and save everyone. I realize the older I get, I can not save everyone!

I often times look at the character “Batman”. You’ll notice, at the end of the night when Batman has finished saving Gotham, who saves him? NO ONE! Batman transitions back to Bruce Wayne and goes on with life! I say this to say, you can’t be the hero for other people if you can’t be the hero for yourself.

While we want to be there and be the hero for everyone, WE SIMPLY CAN NOT, and it really is OK!

Be in a position to take care of yourself, ensuring that. you are whole internally so that you can assist individuals (when/as needed).
