Meet Robyn Thompson

We were lucky to catch up with Robyn Thompson recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Robyn, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
From watching my two sons who both work with me. We all prop each other up on the days when one of us needs support and we have fun the rest of the time no matter what is going on around us. They have taught me that with support you can truly make it through everything. Optimism is built into me now!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am the CEO, Founder and Executive Chef of Four Fat Cows, a group of ice cream parlors with a focus on groundbreaking flavors, a full bakery line and allergen free desserts. I have always had a passion for art, and a knack for starting a business. As a child I would create pop-up “restaurants” in my home kitchen for family and friends, playing the part of both chef and server

As an adult I built upon my entrepreneurial and creative spirit. I started with art studios, then I ventured into restaurants, and eventually into my first Four Fat Cows store in Alpharetta in 2015. My company is family owned and operated and my four kiddos are the Four Fat Cows!

At Four Fat Cows we focus on family. Everything for our classic menu of flavors, kids favorites and a seasonal menu for those who are more adventurous and want to have fun with our yummy ice cream and desserts. We also have started our Commooo-Unity Outreach program where we donate free small scoop cards to schools every month. Lastly, as a mom, Robyn has made it her mission to bring goodies to every family and kids who had to stop eating their favorite desserts because of an allergy, with many gluten and dairy free options

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Learning to ask questions – I have learned to ask as many questions as possible to everyone about everything.

I have also learned you don’t want to be the smartest person in the room. You might have to make the decision at the end of the day, but make sure you ask your support team their thoughts and opinions first…and listen! Then make your decision. Surround yourself with people who are much smarter than you!

Take time to care about those that put in so much time and love into your company. Without all of the support I have Four Fat Cows would never had made it to where it is today.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
We love collaborating and are always looking for new partnerships! Everything from co-brand collaborations, to our exciting new dessert wholesale program. The thing about collaborations is that both sides need to bring something to the table.

For our part in the wholesale dessert collaboration, we are offering amazing desserts, coffee shop desserts/muffins, and ice cream that have a great shelf life, don’t take up much space, and don’t rely on a pastry chef. The the best part is that the restaurants we’ve been working with have seen an average 41%+ increase in their dessert sales and an average 26%+ increase in average ticket sales.

For any of our co-brand collaborations, we are looking for companies that want to create unique items that add joy and value to the customers on both sides! Companies that already have a customer forward focus in place.
