Meet Rodrigo Aranjuelo

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rodrigo Aranjuelo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rodrigo below.

Rodrigo, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Professionally, we must create purpose; there is no purpose if we sit and wait for it to come to us. I believe that we are all creating and finding multiple purposes in our lives. In my case, as a musician, I found one; as an entrepreneur, another; and as a father and husband, yet another very different one.

As a musician, my purpose is to be happy and proud of my work. I wouldn’t want to see myself making music that I don’t enjoy. Art is a means to awaken, mobilize, create reflection, entertain, and often give meaning to the life of the person who receives it.

When we realize that we were able to mobilize the feelings of others by being faithful to our art, I think that is where the purpose is presented to us.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m Rodrigo Aranjuelo, a professional musician, singer, guitarist, composer, and leader of the “Future Natives Project”. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, music has been my life’s passion since childhood. I started performing professionally at the age of 14, including appearances at Cosquin, Argentina’s largest folklore festival, alongside influential figures like “Bongo Farias Gomez”.

In 2015, I released my debut solo album, “Lost & Found,” weaving together the storytelling of folk music, the cinematic drama of film scoring, and the heartfelt emotion of Argentinian folklore.

Since relocating to New York City in 2016, I’ve been working as a session musician while focusing on pushing creative boundaries with the “Future Natives Project”. This new endeavor allows me to explore innovative compositions and musical expression. Stay tuned for exciting updates on upcoming events, releases, and collaborations!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
As a singer, guitarist, and music producer with experience across multiple genres, including folk, contemporary, and rock, I’ve developed the ability to adapt to diverse musical styles. My journey has involved studying contemporary music and composition, playing in rock bands, creating tribute albums, recording as a session musician for various artists, and producing music for others. This breadth of experience has cultivated in me the ability to be flexible and versatile in my musical approach. My advice to those starting their journey is to embrace opportunities to explore different musical styles and techniques, as this flexibility will not only expand your skills but also broaden your creative horizons. Take lessons, collaborate with musicians from different backgrounds, and be open to learning from diverse sources.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was granting me the freedom of choice and celebrating my achievements. From a young age, they instilled in me the belief that I had the power to chart my own path and pursue my passions. Whether it was choosing to pursue music as a career or anything else, they encouraged me to follow my heart and embrace my individuality. Moreover, their unwavering support and enthusiasm for my accomplishments, whether big or small, fueled my confidence and motivation. Their belief in me not only shaped my sense of self-worth but also empowered me to take risks and strive for excellence in everything I do. In essence, their gift of freedom and celebration laid the foundation for my journey of self-discovery and personal fulfillment.
