Meet Rodrigo Ramos

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rodrigo Ramos. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Rodrigo, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
To keep my creativity alive, I engage in a variety of activities that stimulate my imagination and keep me inspired. First, I’m always on the lookout for new singers and instrumentists, constantly exploring what they’re creating and staying updated on the latest developments in the field. This not only exposes me to fresh sounds and perspectives but also sparks new ideas for my own creative endeavors.

Additionally, I find solace and inspiration in nature. Spending time outdoors allows me to feel free and open, which often leads to moments of profound creativity. Whether it’s a leisurely hike through the woods or simply sitting by a tranquil lake, being surrounded by the beauty of the natural world helps to clear my mind and encourages my creativity to flourish.

Moreover, I make it a point to immerse myself in various forms of art and culture, such as visiting art exhibitions, attending concerts, and watching dance performances. Experiencing the creativity of others not only exposes me to different styles and techniques but also challenges me to think outside the box and push the boundaries of my own creativity.

By consistently exploring new music, connecting with nature, and immersing myself in the arts, I ensure that my creativity remains vibrant and alive, ready to be unleashed whenever inspiration strikes.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As a trained musician, I love playing classical music on my violin, expressing my feelings through the music. I also enjoy exploring pop music and mixing it with classical styles. Besides performing, I teach orchestra to high school students in Milwaukee, sharing my passion and building a musical community. What excites me most is inspiring others through music, whether it’s playing concerts or teaching. In the future, I’m excited to work with local artists and groups to create new musical experiences for everyone to enjoy. My journey combines classical music with new ideas, always changing and growing to connect with audiences in fresh ways.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, I would say that the three important things were:

Practice Makes Perfect: Spending time practicing your instrument every day helps you get really good at it. Find a teacher or mentor who can give you tips and advice.

Try Different Things: Don’t just stick to one type of music. Experiment with different styles and techniques to see what you like best.

Share Your Passion: Teaching others about music can be really fun and rewarding. If you enjoy helping others learn, consider teaching music to friends or younger kids.

For beginners, my advice is: Keep practicing, try new things, and don’t be afraid to share your love of music with others. With time and dedication, you’ll become a skilled musician and inspire others along the way.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The best thing my parents did for me was always putting me first. They gave up things like new clothes and sometimes skipped meals to make sure I had what I needed. Even when we didn’t have much money, they worked hard to keep me in school and help me do well in my studies. They loved me no matter what and always encouraged me to do my best. Their love and support taught me to never give up and showed me how important it is to work hard in school. I’m really thankful for everything they did for me.
