Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rohan Das. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Rohan , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I came here to be the best and to dominate this new age of cinema. My journey toward confidence and self-esteem was a deliberate, sometimes difficult path, but each step strengthened my belief in myself and my vision. From a young age, I was drawn to storytelling, whether through debating, writing essays, or visualizing complex narratives. if you got to be the best you have to beat the best at every possible thing, I needed to build the resilience, skill, and presence that true leaders possess.

In high school, I had a pivotal moment when I decided to overcome my fear of public speaking. Stepping up to narrate the news at a school assembly, I pushed myself to speak in front of hundreds for the first time. That experience was transformative. It gave me a rush of confidence and ignited a love for presenting ideas in front of a crowd. From there, I embraced more challenges: captaining my sports teams, debating, writing, and finding creative outlets to shape my voice.

As I pursued filmmaking, each project and every set became a proving ground. Moving to Los Angeles with a clear vision to be among the best, I embraced the hustle, from long hours on student sets to mastering the technical and emotional demands of production. I evolved, not only in my craft but also in my mindset, learning to stay calm under pressure, communicate effectively, and lead with conviction.

At every school, my teachers recognized and encouraged my creativity, and through collaboration, I became someone others trusted and wanted to work with. I learned that confidence isn’t just about being bold; it’s about preparation, adaptability, and showing up for your team with absolute commitment. My mission is to create cinema that resonates, inspires, and challenges audiences, and I refuse to settle for anything less than excellence. I know I have what it takes to shape the next era of film—one unforgettable story at a time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Majoring in business and minoring in psychology gave me a solid foundation, but it was my confidence, leadership, and passion that truly shaped my path.

Confidence, for me, was the bedrock. It grew through facing challenges, like public speaking and high-stakes decision-making, and embracing my unique perspective. With it, I found the resilience to stand firm in my ideas and bring them to life, even in the face of uncertainty.

Leadership, I realized, was not just about guiding others but about truly understanding and inspiring them by being the benchmark yourself. My studies in psychology gave me insight into human motivation and behavior, which was transformative in fostering authentic, supportive environments for teams. This allowed me to lead with empathy and purpose, empowering those around me to reach their best.

Passion has been the fuel that keeps everything moving forward. It’s more than just a drive to succeed; it’s an unwavering commitment to my vision. Passion has kept me pushing boundaries, whether in crafting a new story, directing a complex scene, or simply striving for excellence. It’s this inner fire that has shaped who I am and what I aim to achieve.

My advice for the future is this: approach every endeavor with unwavering confidence, and if you lack true passion, think twice before stepping into the arena. Confidence will be your anchor, helping you stand firm amid challenges and pursue your goals with conviction. But passion—genuine, unbreakable passion—is the fuel that sustains you through the hardest moments, the late nights, and the sacrifices that this journey demands. Without it, the path can feel hollow, and the obstacles insurmountable. So, only enter the fray if your heart and drive are fully aligned with your purpose; otherwise, the battle may be better left unfought.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful gift my parents gave me was the way they parented—like true mentors, guiding me with wisdom and unwavering support. They instilled values that shaped my character and laid the foundation for the person I’ve become. Their approach wasn’t just about teaching me right from wrong; it was about nurturing qualities that would help me navigate life with strength and empathy.

My mother, with her deep sense of hope, faith, and belief, taught me resilience in the face of challenges. She showed me how to trust in myself and keep faith even when things seem uncertain, grounding me with a sense of inner peace and optimism.

My father, on the other hand, instilled in me the courage to dream big but with a practical perspective. He taught me the importance of confidence and passion, urging me to aim high while remaining grounded in reality. His influence is the reason I’ve pursued my goals with ambition, but with a clear understanding of the hard work and persistence it takes to achieve them.

Together, they taught me the meaning of love in its truest form—selfless, unwavering, and nurturing. It’s a lesson that has not only shaped my approach to relationships but has inspired me to live with gratitude and compassion every day.
