We were lucky to catch up with Roman Fischer recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Roman, appreciate you sitting with us today. Maybe we can start with a topic that we care deeply about because it’s something we’ve found really sets folks apart and can make all the difference in whether someone reaches their goals. Self discipline seems to have an outsized impact on how someone’s life plays out and so we’d love to hear about how you developed yours?
My self-discipline was really forged when I started working out at 15. Getting into fitness at a young age taught me consistency, patience, and how to push through challenges. But it wasn’t just about looking better — it came from a deeper place. I had a strong desire to live longer, feel better, and take control of my health early on. That commitment to bettering myself physically translated into discipline in other areas of my life too — whether it’s work, mindset, or daily habits.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’ve always believed we’re capable of more than we give ourselves credit for — and my life has been a journey of proving that through action and purpose. Starting fitness early laid the foundation for everything that followed. It didn’t just transform my body — it changed the way I approach life. The discipline, resilience, and purpose I found through fitness still guide me in everything I do.
At 17, I stepped into the world of acting and modeling, and it immediately sparked something in me. Being in front of the camera, stepping into different roles, and telling meaningful stories gave me a new way to express myself. That passion still drives me today — I’m actively pursuing opportunities in both acting and modeling and constantly working to grow in those spaces.
At the same time, I’m building Roman Fischer Fitness — my own fitness brand — where I’ll soon be launching custom workout programs designed to help people transform not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. These programs are built to meet people where they’re at and guide them toward becoming stronger, more confident, and more in control of their lives.
What excites me most is the impact. Whether it’s through a powerful performance or helping someone change their body and mindset through fitness, I want my work to inspire people to believe in themselves and take action toward the life they truly want.
This is just the beginning. My vision is to grow Roman Fischer Fitness into a complete fitness lifestyle brand — offering not just coaching, but gear, supplements, and resources that support real, lasting transformation. My mission is simple: to help people unlock their full potential — physically, mentally, and at their core.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been discipline, self-belief, and adaptability.
For anyone just starting out: start small, but stay consistent. Build your discipline like a muscle — it’ll serve you in everything you do. Strengthen your self-belief by surrounding yourself with people who uplift you, and by doing hard things that prove you’re capable. And stay flexible — your path may shift, but your purpose can stay the same.
Everyone starts somewhere. What matters is that you start — and keep showing up.
What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?
I think it’s important to lean into your strengths — to go all in on what makes you unique — but also to develop enough range to stay adaptable. That balance has been huge in my own journey.
When I first started working out, fitness became a major strength for me — physically, but also mentally. It built my confidence, taught me discipline, and eventually led to launching Roman Fischer Fitness. So I doubled down on that strength — not just to better myself, but to build something that could help others too.
At the same time, when I got into acting and modeling, I realized quickly that being physically fit wasn’t enough — I had to get vulnerable, expressive, and creative. Those were not my natural strengths. But I didn’t let that stop me. I started training, putting myself on camera, auditioning, getting feedback, and slowly growing in areas that were unfamiliar. That growth has made me a better performer, entrepreneur, and communicator.
So my advice is: go all in on your strengths — because that’s where your power and uniqueness live. But don’t neglect your weaknesses, especially if they’re holding you back from leveling up. Improve just enough to become well-rounded enough to thrive, especially in areas that support your main path.
If I had avoided acting just because I had on-stage and camera shyness, or stayed away from business because I didn’t understand marketing at first, I would’ve missed out on massive growth. Your strengths are your starting point — not your ceiling. The moment you lean into discomfort is the moment you start evolving.
