Meet Roman Fischer

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Roman Fischer a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Roman, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from a few key things.

First, I often picture what my life would look like if I didn’t go after my dreams or if I let my health slip. That alternative reality usually isn’t a good one, and just thinking about it pushes me to keep moving forward.

Second, I’ve learned that chasing genuine passions makes it nearly impossible to quit. When you truly care about something, giving up doesn’t even feel like an option.

Finally, I’ve realized the importance of balance. Taking breaks when I need them keeps me from burning out and allows me to stay consistent over the long run.

My resilience comes from knowing what’s at stake, following what I love, and giving myself the space to recharge along the way.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m a young actor, model, fitness influencer, and entrepreneur.

I started acting and modeling at 17 after people encouraged me to pursue it, but my journey into fitness began a couple of years earlier, at 15, when my younger brother inspired me to start weightlifting. Fitness quickly became a lifelong passion, leading me to compete in men’s physique shows. I won my first competition and placed fourth out of six in my second show. It took a lot of hard work, dedication, and focus, but it was well worth the grind.

Alongside acting, modeling, and fitness, I developed a strong interest in self-help and personal development. I brainstormed book ideas and wrote my first self-help book, Rules to Rule Successfully, which I published at 19 and is available on Amazon today.

By 22, I became a certified personal trainer because I wanted to help others transform their lives the way fitness transformed mine. Just as I was starting out, the pandemic hit, forcing me to pivot. That challenge led me to embrace online fitness coaching and content creation, where I began sharing motivational and educational content to reach people digitally. This ultimately led to the launch of my fitness business, Roman Fischer Fitness.

Building a client base wasn’t easy at first. I invested in business coaching, faced setbacks, took breaks, and kept learning. Over time, I’ve helped more than 50 people transform their minds and bodies, whether it was fat loss, muscle building, mobility, or overall confidence. I’m now working to automate my fitness programs while preparing to launch a supplement line, workout gear, and eventually my own gym.

I’ve booked gigs such as lifestyle shoots for Westin Hotels in New York City and product shoots for brands like Toppik. Each project has allowed me to connect with new people, gain valuable experience, and grow as a performer. I continue pursuing acting and modeling opportunities while seeking representation with larger talent agencies to further expand my career.

Some of my career highlights include appearing as a featured background actor in films like God’s Not Dead 3, where I had the chance to meet celebrities like Jennifer Taylor from Two and a Half Men. I also had the opportunity to work as an extra on the set of True Detective, where I met Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali. In the film Reagan, I played a small part as a secret service agent and filmed right beside Dennis Quaid, who portrayed former President Ronald Reagan.

My journey in acting started at 17 with my first role as an extra in a stomp out smoking commercial. Since then, I’ve taken on a variety of roles, including industrial work for Terminix and commercial work for Bad Boy Mowers, where I played the lawn mower operator in a video shoot. At 18, I landed my first play, 110 Stories, which was a tribute to the heroes of 9/11 in NYC. I also did a commercial shoot for Sculptmaster Pro, promoting a dual-head hair trimmer.

Additionally, I’ve worked on several shorts and feature films for local directors/producers, including Grind, and starred in a Star Trek fan film called The Federation Files, appearing in two different roles. I’ve also voiced an audiobook and played a character in a YouTube animation called Attack on Dragon, inspired by Attack on Titan.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the unique opportunity to connect with fellow celebrities such as Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) from Harry Potter, Charles Martinet, the original voice of Mario, and Priscilla Presley, the former wife of Elvis Presley. I also had the chance to meet Gianni DeCenzo from Cobra Kai, which was an awesome experience. Each encounter has fueled my drive, expanded my network, and deepened my passion for storytelling and performance.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three qualities and skills that have been most impactful on my journey are patience, tenacity through both easy and tough times, and the ability to build relationships and rapport with others.

The best way to develop these is by putting yourself out there and being authentically yourself while meeting new people. Building genuine connections is valuable no matter what industry you are in. For patience and tenacity, it’s important to remember that nothing stays the same forever. Even when things don’t go your way, circumstances can change, and staying patient allows you to ride through those moments without losing focus. Remaining tenacious comes from staying committed to your goals and passions, even when it gets challenging. Writing your goals down and revisiting them regularly can help embed them into your subconscious, making it easier to stay the course and avoid burnout.

By practicing these habits consistently, anyone can strengthen patience, build resilience, and form meaningful connections that support both personal and professional growth.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?

My biggest area of growth this past year has been how I manage and navigate obstacles. In the past, I often reacted quickly before carefully thinking a situation through. This year, I’ve learned to pause, reflect, and approach challenges in a more productive and effective way. Growing up and gaining life experience has shown me how much of a difference this mindset can make.

Things don’t always go the way we want or expect, and we can’t control everything that happens. What we can control is how we respond. Responding with the intent to positively influence a situation is one of the most valuable skills anyone can develop.
