We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Roman Fischer a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Roman, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I developed my confidence and self-esteem in many different ways throughout my life. Growing up, I struggled with low confidence because of bullies, naysayers, and a fear of failure or rejection. But in my later teens, I realized that no matter what happened around me, I was in control of how I saw myself and the kind of future I wanted to create.
Eleanor Roosevelt said, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent,” and that quote became something I started to live by. Once I understood that, I stopped giving power to negative people, brushed off hateful comments, and focused on improving myself. Exercising consistently played a huge role too. It boosted my confidence not only through my physical changes, but also mentally with the endorphins that come from working out.
I also learned that naysayers usually project their own frustrations or failures onto others. Realizing that made me even more determined to go after my goals. It reminded me that people are capable of far more than they think. The sky isn’t even the limit, we put a man on the moon, and that mindset helped my confidence grow to match the potential I know we all have.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m a young and ambitious individual focused on my dreams of acting and modeling while helping make the world a healthier place through my online fitness training and programs.
My passion for fitness began when I was fifteen. My younger brother was the one who inspired me. He loved the Rocky movies and started lifting weights, and seeing his dedication made me want to build muscle, get that classic six-pack, and become a healthier, more confident version of myself. From that moment on, I never looked back.
Since then, I’ve pursued fitness competitively as well. In 2020, right during COVID, I competed in my first men’s physique show and won first place. A couple of years later, I competed again and placed fourth. Both experiences required immense hard work, patience, dedication, and time, but they were incredibly rewarding and further fueled my commitment to fitness.
I entered the entertainment industry at seventeen when I appeared as an extra in a local commercial in Little Rock, Arkansas, booked through my talent agency. Since then, I have signed with agencies in Atlanta, Tampa, and Orlando and continued pursuing acting and modeling despite naysayers who tried to discourage me. I always pushed forward with determination.
When I was nineteen, I published my first self-help book, Rules to Rule Successfully. While chasing my own goals, I realized I also had a passion for helping others succeed. That same passion carried into fitness, and because I loved both fitness and helping people, I studied and became a certified personal trainer so I could motivate others to improve their health just as I had done for myself.
Right after getting certified, COVID hit and I had to pivot. Instead of training in gyms, I shifted online and began posting fitness content. A fitness business consultant reached out to me virtually and gave me guidance through his course, which helped me start building an online coaching business. I gained clients, and later hired another coach who helped me grow even more. While it is still a work in progress, I have trained and transformed more than seventy people physically and mentally. I’m continuing my mission to make the world healthier and am now revamping the structure of my fitness programs to make them even more impactful.
In the entertainment world, I performed in a 9/11 tribute stage play called 110 Stories when I was eighteen and have booked commercial work for companies such as Bad Boy Mowers, Sculptmaster Pro, Toppik, Westin Hotels, and Terminix. I have appeared in short films, feature films, and even played a secret service agent in the film Reagan with Dennis Quaid. I’ve acted in a YouTube fan series called The Federation Files, voiced a character in the animation Attack on Dragon, and narrated an audiobook on Amazon. I’m currently studying voice acting with the goal of becoming both a film and voice actor while continuing to build my fitness empire.
Throughout my journey, I have been fortunate to meet many talented people on set including Mahershala Ali, Jennifer Taylor, Matthew Lewis, Bonnie Wright, Gianni DeCenzo, and Charles Martinet. I’m grateful for every opportunity I’ve had and plan to keep building my dreams and my empire while helping others thrive, not just survive.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities that have helped me the most throughout my journey are persistence, positivity, and patience. Without staying persistent, remaining positive, and trusting the process, I wouldn’t have gotten nearly as far as I have, and I probably would have given up altogether.
The best advice I can give anyone who wants to develop these qualities is to always remember why you started. This applies to any goal. If you don’t have a strong reason behind what you’re pursuing, it becomes much easier to quit. But when you know your “why,” you naturally stay more motivated, and that helps prevent burnout and keeps you committed when things get tough.
To improve your optimism and build more patience, it’s important to practice gratitude. Remind yourself of what you appreciate in your life, whether it’s something you own, someone you love, or a past accomplishment you’re proud of. Focusing on your blessings helps shift your mindset away from negative experiences and allows you to radiate more positivity.
When it comes to patience, it helps to understand that things take time and that any goal worth having is rarely quick or easy. Adjusting your mindset to appreciate the process instead of focusing only on the destination will make your journey much more fulfilling. Learning to love the journey and staying present in the moment will naturally strengthen your patience and help you continue moving forward with a clearer, healthier mindset.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
The best thing I’ve ever done and continue to do whenever I feel overwhelmed, is to slow down and avoid reacting abruptly. Reacting in the moment usually makes things worse, especially when stress levels are already high. Simple strategies like stepping away for five to fifteen minutes, taking a walk outside, breathing in fresh air, or listening to calming music can work wonders to reset your mind.
Being a fitness enthusiast, I also find that exercising at the gym or at home helps not only to shift focus from what’s stressing me out but also to relieve stress naturally through endorphins. If stepping away for a long period isn’t possible, such as at work, even a brief bathroom break to clear your mind or speaking with a manager can help. Whenever possible, try to incorporate some physical activity beforehand or afterward.
Natural supplements like ashwagandha and L-theanine can also be useful for managing stress, especially when you’re on the go or have a busy schedule.
