Meet Romina Asmat

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Romina Asmat . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Romina , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My mother. She is the woman I admire, an entrepreneur herself so I had that model growing up.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
The beginning of my journey started almost nine years ago. Skin Bar was open in 2021 and three years after the birth of my two precious boys, and a divorce. I decided to continue growing in the industry.

I relocated my studio for a fresh start in 2023 and couldn’t be more grateful for all of my clients that have been making this journey my absolute joy. I continue being as passionate about skin care as I was when I first started.

What I love the most about being an esthetician is being able to help women reach their skin goals, feel empowered and comfortable in their own skin. It is incredible that self care can impact so much in our lives. I find that I take a lot of pleasure in seeing the gratitude and smiles in my clients faces every single time. This is honestly why I continue to educate myself in new ways to beautify and enrich their skin needs.

I also believe it’s very refreshing to have to count on a place and/or people that will take care of your needs and always get the same expected results.

Being consistent is key for me. People love that, when they come in they have something in mind and when they leave they have their expectations met and feel absolute better about their skin. As an owner and esthetician this is what sets me apart from most businesses- being honest, and delivering true results.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Knowing yourself and finding what you are passionate about. If you find that, you’ll succeed in life.

Allowing yourself to believe. If you believe, you can create and creating makes your reality.

Persistence- with anything in life.

Finding answers, from either education, reading, talking to people that have done it before or know about the industry, and also people you admire.

We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?
I believe that, if you are aware of your strengths and areas of improvement, are true to yourself, open to change and growth, then you can overcome anything. We can spend a lifetime investing effort on improving areas we aren’t as strong in and that takes time and patience, so I will say take it one day at a time and be kind to yourself because we all have to try, to know if it works, and fail to finally succeed.
