We were lucky to catch up with Ronesha Blunt recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ronesha, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?
For self-care I usually treat myself to nice things, relax & regroup with some alone time! Facials, getting my nails done, hair done, most importantly SHOPPING LOL. This is effective because when you look good you feel good, you feel better! It makes me get up & go hang out sometimes, take cute pictures & admire myself. I usually try my best to create content as well. Just doing things for myself & loving on myself. Self care is the best thing to do when you’re stuck in a rut!
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My makeup brand is called Rare Beautè. It’s special to me because it’s my initials as well as my fathers initials who passed when I was younger. It gives me motivation to keep going, no matter how hard it may be at times, especially when I think of him & how happy he’ll be once I become successful. I am currently working on a cosmetics line, I’ve been trying out different lash styles, lipgloss colors to ensure it’s perfect and represents me & my brand I’m even thinking of expanding my talents, adding microblading and a couple more things I’ll keep to myself for now because i haven’t decided 100% in the upcoming months.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The top 3 skills I feel is important as an entrepreneur is definitely communication, patience & passion. I sat this because you have to know to communicate effectively & efficiently with others! Not being scared to talk, and push your yourself out there & let people know like “hey, I’m a makeup artist” I use to be really scared to do this. Patience because things doesn’t happened when you want it to or expect it to, being patient with yourself while learning new things will ease your mind! Things will happen when God wants it to. Not when you want it to, patience is a virtue. Lastly, If you don’t have passion for whatever it is that you are doing, why are you doing it? A lot of people make this mistake with doing things just for money. And for me, I don’t think it’s reasonable! Having passions drives motivation, it makes you want to do it more & more and get better and better!
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
My BIGGEST area of growth has been my confidence in myself as well as my work. Confidence plays a big roll. When you are confident in your self, so are you clients & soon to be clients!
