Meet Rose Nyang

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rose Nyang. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Rose , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from a deep sense of responsibility and love for my community and those around me. The challenges I face motivate me to keep pushing forward, especially when I think about empowering others and creating a space where everyone feels represented and celebrated. It’s this drive to make a difference that fuels my determination.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

At Larosie, we create high-quality, affordable cosmetic products that are cruelty-free and inclusive for all skin types and tones. What excites me the most is our commitment to empowering individuals to express themselves and feel confident in their own skin. I believe beauty should be diverse and inclusive, and I love that our brand reflects that philosophy.

We’re also dedicated to uplifting the African diaspora in the beauty industry, creating a space where everyone feels represented and celebrated. I’m thrilled to share that we’re planning some new product launches that will further enhance our offerings and continue to promote inclusivity. Stay tuned for updates on events and initiatives that will help us connect with our community even more.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, I think the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been resilience, empathy, and a strong sense of community. Resilience has helped me navigate challenges and stay focused on my mission. Empathy allows me to connect with others and understand their needs, which is crucial in the beauty industry. Lastly, a strong sense of community drives me to create an inclusive space where everyone feels valued.

For those early in their journey, my advice would be to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. Cultivate empathy by listening to others and understanding their perspectives. Lastly, build a supportive network; surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals can provide motivation and encouragement as you develop your skills and knowledge.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

coming to Australia was a pivotal moment in my life. It opened up a world of opportunities that I never imagined possible. My parents’ decision to move here really shaped my future. I’d highlight how impactful my mum’s support was, especially when I was just 16. She believed in my passion for beauty and funded my first mini makeup brand, which was incredible considering she had to support a family of seven, That kind of encouragement and belief in my dreams truly fuelled my ambition and set me on the path I’m on today.
