We were lucky to catch up with Rosey Mcbride recently and have shared our conversation below.
Rosey, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
One evening after work, I checked the mail. As I was shuffling through the mail, a postcard from the local fellowship read, “Are you anxious? “This had my name written all over it. They were advertising a women’s study group. The next thing I knew, I registered and attended the meetings. This led me to attend more social gatherings and join professional networking groups. During my downtime, I also filled my free time listening and watching motivational videos on you tube. This led to me watching Law of Attraction and learning about affirmations. I began practicing what I learned. I started working through my insecurities and my self-esteem. I developed my confidence. I engaged in doing more things that I love.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
With a degree in Psychology and Social Behavior and a minor in Education, I have dedicated over 20 years to the field of education. Holding a teaching credential and a Master’s in Education, my journey has been fueled by a passion for learning and a commitment to inspiring others. Throughout my career, I’ve drawn creativity and inspiration from my students, believing in the power of lifelong learning to transform lives. As an educator, I recognized the importance of applying my skills beyond the classroom. This realization led me to become a certified life coach, where I now use my experience and expertise to empower individuals to achieve their personal and professional goals. My approach is grounded in empathy, understanding, and a steadfast belief in the potential of every person I work with. My mission is to inspire others to embrace their potential, pursue their passions, and lead lives filled with purpose and joy.
What sets my business apart is not just my expertise but my personal journey of transformation and resilience. Having overcome significant challenges, I understand what it takes to get unstuck and move forward. My love for helping clients achieve their goals and find balance in their lives drives everything I do. As a life coach, I offer tailor-made solutions designed to address each client’s unique needs. Whether they’re struggling with stress, self-esteem, or confidence, I provide the guidance, support, and accountability they need to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential. Together, we’ll work to create a fulfilling life where they feel empowered and inspired. When they choose to work with me, they have a partner dedicated to their growth and success.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The 3 most impactful qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were the most impactful in my journey are :
#1 Overcoming self-doubt. The overwhelming fear of failure. Self-doubt leads to overthinking and self-sabotage. I had to set realistic goals, focus on my strengths, and surround myself with supportive people.
#2 Adaptability and flexibility. Having open mindedness was also impactful in my journey. I embraced being able to adjust my teaching and coaching techniques to fit the needs of each individual I partner with.
#3 Commitment to continuous learning and self-development. I learned the importance of continuing education. The key is to be lifelong learners . I’ve gained personal growth, developed new skills, increased my confidence, and improved my creativity. Continuing my learning also helped me build a broader network .
The advice I have for people who are early in their journey to becoming a better version of themselves is having a growth mindset. Know that it’s ok to make mistakes along the way. I would emphasize stepping out of their comfort zone and embracing challenges. Sometimes you need to take drastic measures and make yourself uncomfortable in order to grow.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I feel overwhelmed I enjoy taking walks with my dog, I practice mindfulness by trying breathing exercises or meditating, I prioritize getting enough sleep and I reduce my screen time on social media.
My advice to others that feel overwhelmed is to take a break. They should step away from the situation causing them stress and try multiple strategies to see what works for them. We are all built differently and need to find what brings us peace of mind. Some people go to the gym, some read a book, and some reach out to a trusted friend.
Choose a strategy that works best for you. All that matters is that you are
healthy and safe.
