Meet Rosie Bitts

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rosie Bitts. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Rosie , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I feel like I came into the world knowing I had a purpose so when I get off track I feel very adrift. From the time I was 3 I wanted to be a performer but that has always been mixed with my deep interest in spirituality. These were my two main focus’s growing up. Everything I did, every course I took was with the idea that I would one day be performer and the rest of my time I was obsessed with spirituality. By the time I was 12 I was one of 2 Buddhists in home town in North Western Ontario. What has been more challenging has been figuring out how these 2 things fit together to form my purpose.
Burlesque opened a path for me to not only explore my own creativity and sensuality but to offer a space a healing to others around their relationship to their bodies and sexuality.
I started performing Burlesque 18 years ago and even though I am trained as an actor and singer once I got on the burlesque stage I knew I found my home.
I have since become a certified Sexologist and lineage based Tantrica so I have been able to mix what I love with being of service to people.
My purpose is to help others to connect deeply with their bodies, sexuality, creativity and spirituality. This is the space I hold wether I’m on the burlesque stage or teaching a workshop or seeing a client or offering a class on meditation.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a long time burlesque performer, sexologist and lineage based Tantrica. I am an alchemist who mixes spirituality, sexuality and creativity and helps people live their most impassioned lives through healing their relationship to their bodies, enlivening their sexuality and exploring who they are creatively. I teach workshops and classes both online and in person and international retreats.
I will be heading on my next international adventure to teach a retreat with the Amazing Misty Moss on February 25-March 3.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think that you need to let your passion lead you! The idea that we should play it safe or stay small has never really been part of my path and I don’t think it serves many people. I have a very unusual career that I ADORE. It took time to craft what I wanted to do but every step along the way I believed that I could create something extraordinary if I just took it one step at a time. I was a single mother on welfare at 20 years old and many people told me I had very little options in front of me. Even back then I refused to listen and created the career I wanted that allowed me to work part time so I didn’t need to have my son in full time daycare.
You have a special kind of genius when it comes to what you’re passionate about. Let it guide you. We often discount what we’re good at because we think it’s too easy or we assume everyone is good at it. They’re not! This is the gift YOU have to offer. Even if a million other people do what you do, nobody does it exactly the way you do it so that makes it unique.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am ALL about collaboration right now! I would love to partner with other retreat leaders or people who are teaching classes and workshops internationally. I come from the perspective of a white, queer, intersectional woman and I LOVE connecting with people from other perspectives. I feel like we can offer so much more when we can blend different perspectives on the same ideas.
