Meet Rosie Peace

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rosie Peace a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Rosie, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My Pain. For exampe, I grew up in Los Angeles, CA as a high-risk youth in an underprivileged community. Born to an immigrant from El Salvador and a country woman from Kirvin, TX. We resided in the Crenshaw District (South Central LA) in a studio apartment . You can imagine the lack of space in all regards (physical, mental, emotional, etc.) that I endured while going through the many phases of growing and maturing. As a 33 year old woman, I have realized many gifts that I have from my childhood and how I implement them consistently as I continue to journey in this realm. I am an addvit declutterer and giver. I am used to obtaining living and having possessions in small spaces and am one that is considered a minimalist and I only possess items that I touch regularly. In My youth, this reality was embarrassing to me and I rarely allowed friends to visit my home. I felt less than because of “lack”. I’ve realized and continue to remind myself that everything I have is everything I need.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a Licensed cosmetologist, textured hair professional, makeup artist, and reiki practitioner. I have invested in a range of training to enhance my skillset and provide clients with more than their desired style. I provide an initial virtual hair consultation for new clients, premium styling services including the Goddess Locs, hair accessories, and private appointment times all within a welcoming, upscale atmosphere. Clients enjoy complimentary beverages and refreshments during their service. Whatever service you chose, one thing is certain you will be welcomed as an old friend. I have a servant’s heart (Galatians 5:13) and I enjoy assisting others with operating at their best. I have come to realize that hair skill is what attracts people to me and the healing elements of who I am is what anchors them to my company. My mission is to educate my community with proper haircare techniques and routines to implement to foster healthy hair care and promote growth.

I recently chose to explore the wellness space and sought training to become a certified reiki practitioner. In September of 2022, I fulfilled my training for Reiki Levels 1 & 2. My Master instructed us to prolong practicing for 12 months and to offer Reiki to family, friends, and loved ones. I have been actively offering this energy healing to my network and am excited to provide more to my community.

In January 2023, I collaborated with my business partner, Briel Walls to found a company named Two Women Two Stories One Purpose (2-2-1). Our goal is to continue to grow in sisterhood while offering our community opportunities to enhance their quality of life. We believe when you show yourself more love & care, you pour that into those around you. We are adamant about learning, growing, and operating out of excellence.

Sunday, May 7, 2023, we are hosting our inaugural event titled RESET- A women’s wellness event -4 hour extravaganza in Downtown Los Angeles. RESET is designed to honor and celebrate women by offering an opportunity to take a break from the fast-paced world and shower the mind, body & spirit with love (true self-care). RESET was intentionally planned a week prior to the Mother’s Day holiday to provide space and opportunity for women to prioritize themselves and spend 4 hours away from the day-to-day demands of life. Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The Three Pillars of my current success include Integrity, Trust, and an eagerness to LEARN! I am 33 years young and yearn to learn at least one new lesson daily. Integrity is defined as adhering to values strongly held. Trust is a belief that someone is credible and honest. some believe trust is earned by being honest, having a positive intent, having strong competencies, and having a track record of results. Now that we have identified the three pillars of success in my opinion, let’s discuss ways you can develop these values. Identifying your “WHY” is the first step to developing a character filled with Integrity. If we acknowledge what drives us to fulfill an objective or goal then we are more likely to journey in pursuit with positive yielding behaviors. As we should know that each behavior has consequences, so choose wisely. As we develop mindfulness around our behavior naturally our intentions align to a fulfilling state that isn’t seeking self-gain but a desire to serve others and provide something beneficial to ourselves, our families, and our communities.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am seeking to be involved in panels, online events, in-person events, and speaking engagements to empower and encourage the youth to identify purpose in their journey and allow it to guide them as they explore their interests and god given talents. I am willing to travel abroad and learn more about our culture and continue to educate my community with a variety of traditional practices and principles to encourage self-growth, evolution, and fulfillment.
