Meet Rowdy Jameson

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rowdy Jameson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Rowdy, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I started my musical training in the 7th grade being in Marching Band and Symphony. After 5 years and thousands of hours of practice-I graduated High School and went to work.Hard work.I started my own Masonry Company when I was 20 years old and still do some jobs around the band’s schedule.I was fairly successful most of my career and able to make some investments in real estate and more conventional markets.Sure-there were ups and downs-but nothing that hard work couldn’t overcome.
But through all of this- something was missing in my life-Music.I bought my first guitar at age 44 and started taking guitar lessons and writing Country Music and Rock songs. The wheels turned very slowly-but eventually we started getting some pretty cool gigs and found some fans that liked us that became very good friends and you can never have enough friends. Now we are getting some better quality gigs and have released a four song EP “Crawlin’”and a single called “Heaven 24/7”that people can dial up on You Tube and Spotify(The Rowdy Jameson Band) We are still fairly new-and I joke to people that we still have that New Band Smell.Lol.I honestly wouldn’t trade any moment of my musical journey for the world. It has been super fulfilling-and difficult at times-failures included.I consider myself the luckiest man alive and will continue to try to entertain our fans and hopefully get a hit on Country Music Radio and move to Nashville.Pretty lofty aspirations for a Florida Boy that can’t Dream anything small.I was going to Dream anyway-so why not Dream Big?

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Thanks-my name is Rowdy Jameson of The Rowdy Jameson Band.We are a Country/Rock band fom the Central Florida area.We seem to be gaining quite a good following and quite a bit of momentum as we grow closer and play together longer. We play all around Central Florida mostly but sometimes take our show on the road. It’s been pretty cool and a ton of fun but it is also a lot of hard work -but it is very rewarding when the crowd is into us.No better feeling in the world than that.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think the most important quality anyone can have is determination. That’s not always easy because you go through the highs and lows of the gigging industry..Variables such as the economy-weather and even a pandemic can derail your plans.I have a favorite saying that describes this perfectly “If you want to hear God laugh-tell him your plans”That kind of puts things in perspective for me and teaches me to rely on my faith and my belief in myself.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

I would say the biggest challenge we face as a band is funding the projects we are trying to complete and also trying to find profitable venues to perform at.Being fairly new-we kind of had to start from the bottom(Everyone does)It is getting better all the time but it does seem as if the progress is slower than any of us would have wanted.Does that discourage us?Of course it does- but moving up and forward is the only option. We are resolute on that thinking and plan
