Meet Roxann Wheeler

We were lucky to catch up with Roxann Wheeler recently and have shared our conversation below.

Roxann , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
As a child, I believe my confidence was nurtured and developed. Growing up as one of four sisters, despite our physical similarities, we each possessed distinct personalities. Despite our individual differences, confidence was a value instilled in us from a young age. I vividly recall my mother teaching me to read even before kindergarten, setting me apart as the sole reader in my class. This early accomplishment filled me with pride.

There were moments of frustration, like struggling with a challenging math assignment in grade school. I felt the urge to quit, but in our household, surrendering was not an option. I was taught to be resilient, to persevere, and above all, to have faith in my abilities and make an effort.

Throughout my formative years, I adopted a habit of refraining from using the word “can’t” and embraced a positive outlook, no matter the circumstances. I learned to believe in myself consistently. My confidence is rooted in a mindset of determination and optimism. Interestingly, the more I trusted in my capabilities, the more opportunities seemed to align with my path, leading to significant achievements.

Early on, I recognized the profound impact of self-belief on my confidence. This realization emphasized the importance of self-assurance derived from introspection and positive self-dialogue. While external validation is appreciated, it remains secondary to the self-assurance cultivated from within. My confidence emanates from a foundation built upon my beliefs and mindful self-assessment.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I indulge in life’s simple pleasures – a dash of simplicity, a sprinkle of structure, and a dollop of peace of mind. I’ve always been a curious dream seeker with a vision. I thrive on planning, goal-setting, and seeing things through. When it comes to chasing dreams, I can be as stubborn as a mule! Helping others is my jam. By day, I’m a dedicated wife, mommy, and your friendly neighborhood workaholic. Oh, and did I mention I’m a pro at unlocking home equity as a licensed Residential Mortgage Loan originator? I turn dreams into reality, guiding folks to financial and homeownership bliss. It’s not just a job; it’s a passion project. I get to sprinkle a bit of magic into people’s lives by helping them unlock the door to homeownership and pave the way for generational wealth. It’s a fulfilling journey, watching families achieve their dream homes, one key at a time.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My 8-year finance and mortgage journey, sprinkled with a dash of friendly tenacity, has been the secret sauce to my career success. I’m all about mingling and understanding my clients’ unique financial needs and home goals. Networking is my thing so I dive deep into relationships like a pro! In this wild mortgage world, the key is to be a knowledge sponge, soaking up insights like a thirsty plant in a storm. Luckily, veteran colleagues are always on speed dial, serving up wisdom like a champ! I’m surrounded by a network of resources and a variety of mortgage products and options and I’m not afraid to use the tools I have to help others.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
This industry is huge! One of the best ways to grow your business and build lasting professional relationships is to get out there and mingle. It takes a team & it’s easier with a team. As a residential mortgage loan originator, I am ecstatic to meet & collaborate with others in similar fields from: other mlo’s, real estate agents , insurance brokers, title/escrow officers, builders/contractors , cpas, credit repair companies to name a few. I am thinking there may be a great opportunity for perhaps some business to business marketing. If you’re interesting in connecting , please feel free to contact me on Instagram @theroxannwheeler , or on Facebook under The Roxann Wheeler or on LinkedIn under Roxann Wheeler. I look forward to connecting soon and seeing how we can grow each others business and or make a genuine business connection.
